Description:

Lately I have seen crafters making the sweetest handmade brooches out of felt, fabric, crochet and knit. They seem really cute and as a crocheter I know that making an adorable brooch isn't terribly difficult.

So for this swap you will have 3 partners to mail to. You will send one handmade brooch to each partner. You can make three of the same brooches or a different one for each person based on what your partners like.

It just has to be handmade! Also use interesting accents like ribbons, buttons, charms, whatever your imagination can come up with!

Please indicate colors you like or do not like in the comments below.

Swappers with a history of no sends will be banned.

Thanks!

I am game for any colors/combinations!

Do the brooches have to be made out of "felt, fabric, crochet and knit" or can we get creative?

sparkyanderson 10/17/2006 #

I would imagine you could be creative , Marianne , I think those were just suggestions to get your creative juices flowing. I have a few ideas perking in my head already.

user3948 10/17/2006 #

Use whatever medium you choose for these, don't be limited by my suggestions!

I like all kinds of colours.

Hi, can you mention if you're vegan? My work incorporates silk, feathers and leather so I wouldn't be a good match for a vegan swap partner.

BTW, I'll like anything my swap partners makes so colours don't matter to me.

Thanks!

I like all colors. I don't like fur. That's about it. :)

Be sure to post pics of your brooches when you recieve them. Cite who made which ones, so we know whose artwork is whose. Happy swapping!

This is for Wendy: Your pin is so adorable!!! I love it. I got it today and an hour later my knitting circle arrived so I passed it around for all to admire. Many oohs and aahs! I will leave more comments when I rate the senders and hopefully upload pictures. All my brooches went out of the country and I did not take photos before I sent them. Alyson

No one got anything from me yet? I sent it way before the deadline! Su-Ying

sparkyanderson 11/30/2006 #

Thank you Brenda , your pin arrived today. I am really impressed with your creativity and the presentation of your pin. Donna

sparkyanderson 12/ 1/2006 #

I sent my pins out way before the deadline and have not heard yet if Maitreya or Leanne received theirs yet. Su-Ying recieved hers a long time ago. I am still waiting for one pin to arrive.

user3948 12/ 7/2006 #

Brenda, your pin arrived last week. It was adorable! It did get a little damaged, but its nothing I can't fix and I'm still giving you a 5. Thanks!

sparkyanderson 12/11/2006 #

I just want to say i am slightly annoyed at the rudeness of two people i have sent pins to. I sent them out to Leanne Prain and Maitreya Dunham well before the deadline. I don't really worry if you do not like the pins i made that is not the point .I would like to know if they were received, emails I have sent have been ignored as well.Donna

I agree with Sparky. The receiver does not have to like what they get, regardless the sender puts time and effort into swap and making sure they go out on time that it is only common courtesy to say, hey... I received your items!

Hi Donna,

I'm not sure what happened - just having run across your comment now, but I did send an email to everyone who sent me a pin, and I know I responded to the follow up you sent me - maybe I ended up in your spam folder?

My apologies if you felt offended. It wasn't my intent. I have had some difficulties with my mac and safari on the swapbot rating system so I know that I haven't rated everyone I swapped with last winter. but I didn't mean to offend you. Thank you for the pin.

Leanne
