Calling all music lovers out there! Turn the lyrics of Beatles songs into a beautiful handmade journal compiled from a variety of artists around the United States. Join this swap! This is the sixth of a Beatles Lyrics & Journaling bi-weekly swap and will feature the song, "Octopus's Garden." You do not have to participate in every month's swap to be in this one. For this swap, you will take this song: "Octopus's Garden" from the huge Beatles catalog and create a journal page. I will choose a different song for each swap - - that way there are no repetitions in our journals. Please start with a 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper that is good quality. This way we can keep our lyrics in a binder of our choosing. I went back and forth about having you put in a three hole punch on your page, but I'll let binding be up to the recipient. You should, however allow for some binding on the left edge of the page (meaning don't print any lyrics directly along the left edge). You will creatively decorate the page using any medium of your choice - - collage, drawing, painting, stamping, etc. You can hand write the lyrics or type them... the choice is up to you, but please put some thought into how you decorate the page. Make something that you would like to receive. You must include the majority of the lyrics from the song on the page. By majority, I mean that you can use common sense to edit out any repetitive phrasing, include the chorus only once if you so choose, eliminate any non-words such as oohs and ahhs, etc. But, the rest of the lyrics should be on your page. When mailing your journal page, please mail it flat in a large envelope. You might want to put cardboard in the mailer so that it arrives in excellent condition. I know that we can all be late sometimes... please just let your swap partner know when he/she can expect your package to arrive. This swap is for the United States only. If you'd like to start an international version, let me know. I can give that a try, too. These swaps have a quick turnaround because you can start working on your journal page ahead of time before partners are assigned. You do not have to worry - - I will not cancel these swaps. For ratings, keep the following in mind: â— a 5 if the package arrived according to the requirements of the swap. â— a heart if the journal page that you receive is extra special - - shows a lot of thought put into it. You do not need to send in extra goodies with your page, just make what you send out beautiful. Additional Info.: â— Must be rated a 4.95 or better â— Open to newbies (unrated swappers) with a well filled-out profile --- this is your opportunity to get some great ratings (and beautiful artwork)! â— No 1s or recent / unexplained 3s I am truly hopeful everyone who joins will honor their swap and not flake on their partner. However, I will angel any and all flakers, once you have rated them a 1, mailing them a high quality Copy of what I created for this month's swap. If you have any questions, please PM me. I have created a flickr page for us to load our journal pages on before you send them out. You can find it here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/1867414@N25/ The picture is my own journal page from a previous swap. |
