Here is number 3!!

Sorry to be late with this swap. I've been on jury duty as well as ending one job and starting a new one (totally different career path) and taking classes! Augh! Anyway-

The basics:

between 3"and 6" approximately.A little smaller or bigger is ok.

whatever medium you prefer to work with (paper,fabric,etc.).If paper,make the bird sturdy with chipboard or the like in between.(Or,use 2 pieces of chipboard decoupaged/painted over and adhered together.)

A general bird shape is fine.They do not have to be perfect-just as long as your partner definitely gets that it is a bird!

Give your bird wings,separate from the bird (not just painted on),a tail,eyes AND A BEAK!! I have seen some birds without beaks and it is quite disconcerting.I end up making beaks for them myself! Please give your birds beaks!! (A tiny triangle or even a paperclip works!)

Somewhere on your bird there needs to be a positive word (like "dream" or "fly"..).This can be done in whatever manner you like.

Give your bird a hanger,wrap her up carefully and send her off!

Another word about beaks..The beak does not actually have to be separate component to the bird. My birds (which are sewn) simply have a pointy bit on their faces which is the beak.

I think that's it! Have fun!

Are they or a stick or can these hang?

@wolfeagle - either a stick or a hanger will work. The original birds used wooden sticks ; but they were for the artists home;not for maling off! I think it might be a good idea to message your partner after they are assigned and inquire which she would prefer. Keep in mind that the Postal Service is not always kind to our packages-especially international-and sticks might not survive !

This was a very fun swap, my partner liked her bird I sent and I loved the one I received. Thanks for hosting this one. RadicalRecrafter. :: >}
