Description:

Step 1: Find a postcard that you are drawn to. It can be new, vintage (in good condition), or handmade.

Step 2: Look at the image for a little while. If it has people, imagine who they are. If it is scenery, imagine what it would be like to be there. And so on.

Step 3: On the back of the postcard, write a haiku that is inspired by the image on the front of the postcard. Haiku poems follow a 3-line, 5-7-5 syllable format. It can be serious, silly, or strange. Have fun with the structure!

Step 4: Mail it!

Fine print: This is obviously sender's choice, but make sure the card you are choosing does not fall into your partner's dislike category. Additional: I will remove anyone with any 1's or 3's in the past 6 months. Flaking sucks. Don't be a jerk. Have fun. Be merry. Etc.

Hey, I'd been wondering where all the haiku swaps had gone! I was even thinking of implementing one myself. YAY to you!

I love these also. I cannot tell what my mood would be one day so I could come up with anything and I love reading what my partner comes up with.
