Description: | |
We all have something in common: we collect stuff. Some of us collect lots of stuff. The purpose of this swap is to turn our collections into works of art. Create one still life image using some of your collection(s). The image can be a photograph, drawing or painting and needs to be at least 4"x6". The crap that makes up your still life can be one collection (in part or whole) or an assortment ~ craft supplies (buttons, thimbles, knitting needles, paint brushes), knick-knacks, stamps, teddy bears, toys ~ anything like that would be cool. What's not cool: a random messy corner of your home, the contents of your purse, shampoo bottles in your shower, etc. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that jazz, but this is for artistic displays of things you purposely collect for aesthetic, artistic or sentimental purposes, not just random items that happen to accumulate in your home. Your still life needs to be done on nice paper: printed on photo paper or drawn/painted on artist paper (bristol, watercolor - whatever you fancy). Send it in an envelope with a note explaining what's in your still life & what the collection means to you. This swap was inspired by Seth Apter's It's Still Life series - check out his posts for lots of inspiration. |
