Description:

For this swap, you will have one partner, and you will send that partner one ATC per week--sender's choice. I have LOVED participating in @tamtamlee 6-week snail mail swaps, and I thought this might be fun, too. Many times I'll make an extra when I'm making an ATC--that would be perfect for this swap!

So...one partner, 6 ATC's total over the course of 6 weeks. You must send out on or before the Monday of each week. Because it's fun to be inspired and go with it, all ATC's are all sender's choice--just PLEASE do an initial check of your partner's profile to make certain you're not sending something dreaded!

Fun way to get a sense of your partner as an artist! It IS ok to send ATC's you have already made--but NOT ok to send another swapper's artwork and claim it as your own.

First send date is close to sign-up date so that we can get all 6 in before Christmas. You should not have to wait at the post office--ATC's in the U.S. can be mailed for a maximum of $.65, to Canada for $.85, and internationally for $1.05 (I think these are right).

Send dates are: Nov 12, 19, 26, Dec 3, 10, 17

In order to participate, please have a rating of 4.98 or above with at least 10 RATED Type 3 swaps.

Such a great idea - a 6 week ATC swap! I am loving @tamtamlee 's 6 week snail mail swap #4 so I totally understand the idea behind your swap. I will keep a watch on it for now as your rating requirement is a 4.98 and yet I only have a 4.97. Maybe in a few weeks my rating may go up to the 4.98. I hope this swap turns out well for you and you host one again in the future! I'll be sure to check it out again. :)

Regarding the third paragraph: Are resends allowed for this swap as long as the sender doesn't take credit for it?

From the USA: costs above are only if you send in a rectangular envie and it is not too chunky. Square envies cost more. Unevenly thick, or more than 1/4 inch thick overall will cost you $0.20 more to US or Canada. The thickness issue is that the post office wants them "machinable". Base price is for up to one ounce, so 3 ATCs are often the same price as one.

Well...I would prefer you only send your own artwork. However, if you check with you partner and it is acceptable to both, then it's ok by me!

Thanks @Lady for the updated postage info. the postal costs are a consistent mystery to me. Just when I think I have it figured out, I learn something new. I do know about the $.20 upcharge for "nonmachineable" items.

I hope you will do another one of these swaps. I am not able to do this one because I will be out of town for 3 of the swap dates. So, I would like to encourage you to do another one that starts in early January. Thanks for your consideration as I would sign up for that one in early January.

suemick15 11/ 1/2012 #

thanks! I was hoping you would say to send your own artwork. I'm in!

isabellasnow 11/ 1/2012 #

Yes, if this one is fun and popular, I'll definitely do more and, if I don't, feel free to use the idea and message me--I'll definitely join.

isabellasnow 11/ 1/2012 #

Yes, @suemick15 ...I really want partners to get a sense of you as an artist PLUS I think it will challenge each of us to do something DIFFERENT each time instead of relying on the same techniques (I'm guilty of this and when I just send once to 1 partner, I can get away with it).
