Description:

So excited about this idea. We all know the New Year is coming up fast and it's time to be thinking of what we want for 2013. This swap is a great way to motivate yourself into getting started. Any journal lovers out there reading this know the benefits of writing down your desires. In this swap, you will do just that.

This will be a journal swap with a New Years Theme. There will be 10 prompts that must be completed. After that, the rest of the journal is can be filled with whatever you like.

Prompt 1- Tell your partner a little bit about yourself. ( 2 page minimum)

Prompt 2- Write about what the last year (2012) was like? Was it a good year for you? Bad? Any major life changing events? (two page miminum)

Prompt 3- Share some memorabilia from your year. For example, lets say you visited the beach during the summer. Share a picture if you have one. Or maybe a postcard from where you went. Got a ticket to a concert you went to? The ideas are endless.

Prompt 4- Write about your New Years Resoltion(s) for 2013. List what you want to accomplish in this next year. Write down your plans for making these things happen. Tell your partner why these things you wish to resolve matter to you.

Prompt 5- This page(s) will be the most creative section. Use your talent, whatever it may be to express what your resolution looks like. If you can draw, draw it. If you want to make an ATC and tape it on this page, you can do that? If you aren't good at drawing but have another creative way to give your partner a visual look of what your resolutions look like, then do that. Have fun using any and all scrapbook materials, stickers, etc.

Prompt 6- Fill a page with the most motivating quotes and/or lyrics that you love and motivate you.

Prompt 7- Take the next page and show yourself some kindness and love. Fill a page or two with affirmations and words to your own self. Use this prompt to truly express love and acceptance for yourself. Tell your partner why you are 100% sure that wonderful things are going to happen for you this next year.

Prompt 8- Write a list of all your blessings. Take a moment and think really hard about things you are grateful for in your life. Try and list enough things to take up a page. Decorate the page as well if you like.

Prompt 9- Show off your life. Take the next 2-3 pages and show your partner in photographs those things you are grateful for. Kids? Parents? Pets? Show off what is most important to you and why

Prompt 10- This last prompt can be really anything you want it to be. It can be a letter to your partner, another page of inspirational quotes, poems, pictures, etc.

This is a very nice idea, but 10 prompts plus anything else in that short turnaround seems way too short of time frame. Any chance of making the send by date the 1st of Feb?

I agree with morgainegeiser. Also, how many pages should the journal have altogether besides the ten prompts?

whispernova 12/24/2012 #

Yes I suppose you are right. I will do that. Thanks for the suggestion!

@cynaemon the journal can have lots of left over pages as long as the prompts are filled out in detail. If the prompts take up 1-2 pages each, it will fill up fast. Anything else after that is up to you. Perhaps you might get a heart for adding several more entries, but that is totally up to you:) Let me know if you have any more questions.

I am so happy you extended this, I had signed up and then went over to watch list because I didn't think I would have all the time to do it but am now participating again :)

Thanks!

I am in now, thanks for extending the deadline.

So excited for this! I can't wait to share my own things and see life from someone else's perspective. It's going to be a great little project to keep myself occupied with. Is there a requirement for journal size/page count? I quite fancy the idea of jazzing up a plain A4 journal. :-)

I am on Prompt 5 now, I have been working on the Journal since Dec. 26 so I wouldn't be overwhelmed. lol. I cannot wait to get the journal and I cannot wait to see what my partner I am sending to says about what I have done here.
