Description:

Hi there! It's a easy swap with one round per month! Let's make collaborative mail-art! Take an envelope or a cardboard to make a postcard. Make a draw or glue an image and send it to your partner. Your partner must modify or add more drawings, images or whatever he/she wants to yours and then pass it to his/her new partner for the next round. We're gonna make someting like a "Exquisite Corpse", do you want examples? Take a look to the links below!

Rules and resume (ATTENTION) for this first round:

1.- Take an envelope or a cardboard to make a postcard.

2.- Draw or glue an image on it.

3.- ADD YOUR ADDRESS on the back of the cardboard or on the front of the envelope, and put it on into other envelope because it should be sent back to you after the fourth - fifth round :)

4.- Pass to your partner.

5.- Everyone is welcome by now, but I'll check profiles and I'll angel if needed.

6.- Questions? Just comment or pm! ^_^

Please, HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Examples)

ready set go!

Just to clarify - 3. ADD YOUR ADDRESS - does this mean add your own address (so the postcard can be returned to you later) or does this mean add your partner's address?

ZzMonstruozZ 01/23/2013 #

Yep! :) you've to write your own address because it should be sent back to you after the fourth or fifth round :P

ZzMonstruozZ 01/23/2013 #

I've edited with the info ^_^!

papermoon 01/25/2013 #

So we'd be sending the thing through the mail inside an envelope until it's ready to come back to us.. then they send it naked?

ZzMonstruozZ 01/28/2013 #

Yeps! It's @Papermoon ;) Thank you so much for your comments!!!!! Editing again!

NorthernBorder 01/29/2013 #

So the visual theme is "exquisite corpse"?

NorthernBorder 01/29/2013 #

Oh, I just educated myself. Never mind, thank you.

;)

JanHardt 01/30/2013 #

Do we do a background as well, or just an image? Thanks

snout 01/30/2013 #

For an idea on how much space to leave (in case we did one in the style of the second link), how many rounds do you expect there to be? Or should we just plan on sending back whenever it looks complete? Example: one might last four rounds, while another lasts for eight.

ZzMonstruozZ 01/31/2013 #

@JanHardt just an image! @Snout I was thinking about 3-4 rounds at least but of course, some of the postcards/envelopes could take longer. I'll open the new rounds for new participants so there always will be "uncomplete" mail-art travelling around =) And of course, you could receive your postcard/envelope back and you always could start a new one =)

Ooh! It could be fun to reuse the same carrier/delivery envie that the art comes in over and over so the person who sends the homer winds up with a cool piece of Mail art. Kinda like a gift with purchase ;-)

Zuzu 02/ 4/2013 #

I like that idea, too, @misscorbeau

ZzMonstruozZ 02/ 4/2013 #

@misscorbeau + @zuzu I had that idea too! :) But then I thought that maybe it was too much to explain for one swap (sp. When my English is so poor) But of course, you're free to do it! I'm sure the folks will follow you!

snout 02/10/2013 #

@misscorbeau yes! Has anyone reused bill/junk mail envies? They are very easy to reuse since you can just add the address from the inside. ;)

AmookIslandCreations 02/21/2013 #

@ misscorbeau I either carefully pull the junk mail envies open, turn them inside out, and then reglue them or carefully slit open the sides and reglue or tape them. A lot of them have interesting patterns on the inside and I like adding more designs too. Hugs from Alaska, Sherry

@AmookIslandCreations I have seen others do that sort of thing and they look great!
