Click this link for just one tutorial on how to decorate a matchbox. I find the small 32 count matchboxes at Walmart or my local grocery store in packs of 6. Here is a link that gives instructions how to use Rachel's matchbox template without buying them. For me, I enjoy buying them and I have never pulled them apart to decorate them. I have no problems covering the outside or the drawer. This last link will show you examples of how some finished projects look. Here is one on Pinterest So...what do you fill a matchbox with? Brads, stickers, ribbon, little embellishments, buttons, anything cute and useful. This isn't profile specific, but I'd advise everyone to at least look at their partners profile. (I will personally be customizing the box I send specifically for my partner. It's the extra things that make Swapbot fun.) See what colors they do/don't like. Make sure you respect a list of "don'ts" if they have such a thing on their page. Most of all: have fun trying something different. It's highly addictive!! When you send this to your partner, send along a little note with your username letting them know what swap this is for. I send all of mine in little bubble envelopes. It's the best method for these type of projects. You can even wrap the matchbox in a little piece of bubble wrap to further protect it. |
