Even on the worst days, there are little bits of joy. For an entire week, write down three good things that happened every day. Big or small. Sometimes you might have to really think stretch to find three, I know how it can be. You can type them, or hand write them. Fill in a little book, or put them on embellished papers. Do it in list form, or jot down paragraphs (or pages) for extra detail. Send your partner your list, along with a little flat surprise, like a stamped image, sticker sheet, some ribbon, ephemera, a bookmark, etc. March 10th through March 16th will be our week to pay attention to the good bits. Please date your entries! I've given us a few extra days to send in case we want to pretty up the list, or in case life happens. If you should miss a day, then please add a day onto the end so you get 7 days, I'm sure your partner will understand. Meet group requirements to join. Please rate a 5 if your partner sent on time, included 21 good things (3 each, 7 days) and a flat gift item. (Inspired by my physics teacher who had us do this for a month for extra credit. The theory is that gratitude amplifies happiness, so if we focus on the good, we see the good more often.) |
