These 2.5" squares are great for Scrap Vomit and Postage stamp quilts

The Details - 2 partners

  • Please send 100% cotton quilting fabric (no flannels). Send high quality fabrics that you would be happy to receive.

  • 49 2.5" squares -- please cut accurately, larger is OK if you are fearful of skimping your partner. Try to send 49 unique pieces, if you don't have 49 different fabrics, 2 of each fabric is OK but no more than 2.

When you receive your squares, I recommend that you count and measure. If squares don't meet the requirements, please rate a 3.

USA only, 4.95 rating required with no recent unexplained 1s or 3s. Newbies welcome with a well filled out profile. I review profiles before assigning an will ban if needed.

Not totally indisposed, just not able to host! I can totally swap!

MamaMay 06/ 3/2013 #

Also just in case anyone else wants to host these: I don't care if you host a swap for 2.5 squares. I am SURE I am not the first not the last person to make a quilt using 2.5 inch squares so feel free.just be aware though... I just might join the swap!

Just found out what my birthday present is! A trip with out children! Woohoo! Sadly it falls several days before and after my birthday so... Well I will have to sit this one out!

@mamamay I changed the send by date to July 1 in case you wanted to join back in :)

MamaMay 06/ 6/2013 #

Thanks for the date change! I am on it! Also I am likely going to host an international ones of these some time in July.

I'm excited, I have two sets of 50 different charms, already rotor cut and ready to go. :)

Is there any do's/don'ts with regards to patters, colors, etc?

beadqueene 06/18/2013 #

@aleshapie no restrictions other than no flannels and the squares must me 100% quilting cotton; also be as accurate as possible with your cutting

SunnyNole 06/28/2013 #

I'm cutting 3 in squares generally so the receiver can cut accurately depending on their project- also, for designer fabrics or really pretty designs I'm including a larger piece so that the receiver can fussy cut on her own. I'm just making sure this is okay.

sorry @sunnynole I have been super busy the last couple weeks and haven't checked comments! That's fine and very generous of you :) I'm sure your partners will love them!

SunnyNole I think if I continue with Swap Bot I will definitely take a cue from you and send 3" squares, etc. I was just informed by one of my swap partners that my squares were off by a little bit. I had purchased them already cut as I am totally new to quilting an wanted a huge variety. But now...I feel horrible and am trying to fix the problem. I am new to Swap Bot too an having 3's at the very start will certainly ruin my ratings and ability to participate. I understand the rating, just hate that it was due to a stupid mistake, and not due to not sending, etc. sigh
