Description:

This description and the idea of the swap is solely attributed to EvetteOdgen.

Updates in the "Previous Round" section in bold. Please read the whole swap description before signing up. Thanks!

In this swap, you will have 3 partners.

IF YOU ARE NEW TO THIS SWAP:

You will send each partner the starting row of a granny square. It's called a "granny daughter". Yarn color and pattern is sender's choice, as long as it is 100% acrylic worsted weight yarn.

Here are the instructions:

Step 1: Ch 6. Join with a sl st to form a ring. (If you want less hole in the center, chain 3 or 4 instead) You can also make a "magic circle".

Step 2: Ch. 3, 2 dc, ch 2, (3 dc, ch 2) 3 times, sl st to join to the 3rd chain stitch from foundation loop. Fasten off. It should look like this:

Granny Daughters

Step 3. Safety pin a paper tag to Round 1 of your square with the following:

Your Name (Swap-bot name)
Your Address
City, State, and Zip Code

Send 1 of these to each of your 3 partners.

IF YOU PARTICIPATED IN A PREVIOUS ROUND:

Before and after you add your row, measure the square. Add a row to the granny squares you got from your partners in the previous round. Tails can be left hanging or not when the square is less than 6". Yarn color is sender's choice, as long as it is 100% acrylic worsted weight yarn. Here are some instructions if you need them: http://0.tqn.com/d/crochet/1/0/H/-/-/-/grannyrnd2.jpg

Once the square gets to be 6", finish it completely - no hanging tails, mail it to the owner (a tag should still be safety pinned to the center) and send your partner a "new" starter square (see directions at the top of this description).

SENDING ON SQUARES

Send one of the squares to each of your 3 new partners. Leave the tag pinned to the center so the square can eventually find its way home in a later swap. If you get a same partner as previous round, try to send them one of your other squares from another partner so we each get a different square for the next round.

Everyone crochets differently, so some squares might come home sooner than others. That is ok, our goal is 6 inch squares. If your square comes home and it is NOT close to 6 inches yet, feel free to add another row and send it along as if it is someone else's square. That is bound to happen since partners are assigned randomly by the computer.

QUESTIONS?

Any questions, please send me a message. Newbies welcome, but please no flakers. If you have a rating less than 5.0, please send me a message with explanation. If I don't get a message from you by August 31, I will remove you from the swap, no questions asked.

If you participated in Round 7, you're welcome to join again if you sent out your swaps out on time. You are given two weeks to add a round and send out the swaps, so please send on time. If you think you can't send out on time, please don't sign up.

I check all swappers and their ratings to ensure a flake-free swap. If you haven't logged-on to Swap-bot for more than 3 days before this swap starts, I will remove you from the swap. We want swappers that will keep the squares flowing. I will ban at my discretion.

Keep calm and crochet on!
