Also Known As: Inexpensive Profile Surprise :) Send your partner 3-5 small items meant simply to please. These items can be purchased or handmade. (A mix of the two is especially nice.) At least one item should indulge your partner's darker tastes. I'm sure I speak for most of us when I say that things like creative, atmospheric packaging and/or a personal note are appreciated. Originally, this was marked as a $5 swap, but I think it's better to call it "inexpensive" because $5 doesn't buy much these days. Still, I'd like to keep it "cheap & easy" so let me make some suggestions -- but do remember to keep your partners' preferences in mind. Possible inclusions: Think of it this way -- you might buy one small but nice item (perhaps those bath salts), make another item or two (like an ATC and a lovely blank notecard) and fill in with little things like a treat, some tea or a handful of carefully chosen spare embellishments that suit your partner more than you. The key to a successful "cheap" swap is to really tailor your items to your partner. I'd rather get a tattered copy of a creepy book that my partner just KNOWS I will love than a shiny new joke book that doesn't fit my profile at all. Make sense? Please read your partner's profile carefully and remember to check for additional clues to what he or she might like in the group forum -- especially in "Greetings & Introductions". (In other words, be a good little stalker.) If you are excited to send your package, and can't wait for your partner to receive it, THEN you know you've done well. This is open to ALL Dark Hearted members. The swap will only be open for joining for 1 week from its posting date. There will be 3 weeks from the sign-up day to the send-by day. Please leave any questions or thoughts below, or feel free to email me at [email protected]. Creepy swapping! RM |
