Curious Facts on a Postcard, R2

Did you know:

• That elephants usually only sleep for two hours a day?
• That Great Britain was the first county to issue postage stamps, and that their postage stamps are the only stamps in the world not to bear the name of the country of origin?
• That Alabama was the first state in the United States to officially recognize Christmas in 1836?
• That Lysol was once marketed as a "feminine hygiene product"?
• That the plastic things on the end of shoelaces are called aglets?

Here's the idea: you will send one thoughtfully-chosen postcard (based on your assigned partners profile) on which you will write as many interesting facts as you can reasonably fit. Please keep it fun and light-hearted (ie. no "facts" which relate to commonly understood touchy subjects: religion, politics, etc).

I will be checking participants profiles and ratings thoroughly before assigning partners; please note that if you are currently showing as late on any swaps I will politely request that you follow through on those before participating in this swap. Similarly, if you have a 1 rating and have not made an effort to follow through on the swap owing to your partner (especially if they are still an active member of the site), I will likely ask that you do this before participating in any of my swaps.
