Description:

Send your partner a notecard with a note written inside to say "Hi there!".

The card you write in may be purchased, altered, or handmade, and may be a notecard or a correspondence card or a postalette.

Please write more than 2 or 3 sentences. Write as if you're spending time with a friend, just a friendly little note. (You also have the option of typing the note and inserting it inside the notecard.)

Then, before sealing, include a small, flat enclosure.

Some ideas for small, flat enclosures:

  • notecard with envelope

  • postcard or postcard blank

  • postalette

  • letter set (1 envelope and 2 sheets)

  • sticker sheet (no loose ones please)

  • ATC blank

  • inchie blank

  • twinchie blank

  • flat ornament or embellishment, e.g., stick-on gems, flowers

  • tea bag in individually sealed package

  • a few stamped images (leave plenty of room around them)

  • acrylic stamp (unmounted)

  • tag blank

  • bookmark blank

  • zine (yours or someone else's)

The idea here is to get to know each other better, not to spend time making the enclosure (unless you want to, but that is not required for this swap).

Please check your partner's profile to ensure you are sending them something they will appreciate.

Have fun!

I'd just like to check.. a notecard is A6 size, isn't it?

For the purposes of this swap:

  • A notecard can be any mailable size, is folded (usually in half but there are many variations), and mailed in a separate envelope.

  • A correspondence card can be any mailable size and is a single sheet of unfolded paper mailed in a matching envelope.

  • A postalette can be any mailable size and self-folds (becomes its own envelope - there is no separate envelope). There are commercially made ones and many variations to do it yourself online.

Let me know if you have anymore questions Anni. (";)

Forgot to say, A6 is about 4" x 6", which is a good size for mailable NCs and PCs. lol

Thanks, Terry! That's so kind of you :o)

I can feel a postalette coming on; we don't have them here!

They are not very common over here either Anni, but I love them too!

Someone sent me Nancy Drew postalettes once and I loved them so much. I have wanted more ever since I sent the last one out.... the first postalettes I have ever seen.
