Please only join this swap if you know someone aged between 12 – 16 years old (son, daughter, nephew, niece, brother, sister, cousin, granddaughter, grandson, student, friend…) interested in finding a snail-mail penpal. Penpaling is a great activity for young boys and girls to keep in contact with old-fashioned snail-mail and develop writing skills. Moreover, through penpaling they may discover the fun of opening an envelope addressed to them, learning about other cultures, and maybe find a friendship which could last years. In this swap you need to send one letter written by someone aged from 12 to 16 years old to two partners. The letter has to be handwritten and at least one A4 or two A5 sheets (front) or one A5 (front and back) or longer if you want. In this letter, boys and girls have to tell their partners about themselves, where they live, hobbies, free-time activities, favourite subjects, etc. They should give an address in case they wanted to receive a reply back. After joining this swap, post here a comment giving some basic information about the boy or girl who is going to write the letters (I will post my cousin’s info as an example): -Name -Country -Age -Boy or girl? -Languages he/she speaks -Interests -Kind of relationship you have (son, daughter, nephew, niece, brother, sister, cousin, granddaughter, grandson, pupil, friend…) Letters have to be written in English, but if you see in your partners post that he/she speaks another language, you could write a small part in that language if you want to. If English is not writer’s mother tongue, he/she should have a good written level. Everyone will send two letters and receive other two letters. It’s not obligatory to reply to the letters you receive, but if boys/girls feel they liked the letter and would like to become penpals with the person who sent it, of course they should reply! The idea is that everyone might find at least one new penpal. The envelope will be addressed to the swap-bot account owner to avoid problems with PO boxes, but the letter will be addressed to the boy or girl mentioned in your partner’s comment. If possible, write the name of this swap and your swap-bot screen name somewhere in the envelope, so that we can give the letter unopened to our boy/girl, to let them the pleasure of opening it =P Newbies are welcome with a well filled out profile, no recent and unexplained 1s or 3s. My cousin and I can angel if needed, but I hope it won’t be necessary. RATINGS Rate 5 if you receive a handwritten letter in English from someone aged 12-16 years old. If you do not receive the letter and if you receive no feedback from the partner, you have to rate 1 (but I would recommend contacting me first) This is the first swap I host so please, if you see there is something important left or if you have any suggestions, let me know. |
