JESUS SAID: Calling all writers!! Themes: Bible research, Writing, Challenge, Snail Mail Jesus said many things, but some of these were perplexing while others were simply powerful and enlightening. He spoke to fisherman, to thieves, to prostitutes, to priests, to taxpayers, to rulers, to housewives and loved each and every one the same. Though I have never done a study concentrating solely upon the things that He said, I always thought it would be interesting to simply go through The Scriptures and look only at things “Jesus Saidâ€. These days research is not as labor intensive as it once was, we can use filters to look at specific instances where a word or two appears through search results at biblegateway.com or blueletterbible.org and other sites. For this swap, you will write one page about a specific thing/topic that Jesus said. You will write at the top of the page, the citation of the scripture in full, including “Jesus said, …†and your SwapBot user ID or personal name underneath (so you can get credit) with a well thought out development of your opinion or ideas that came to you as a result of studying this verse. You will make THREE COPIES of the ONE TO TWO PAGE RESEARCH ESSAY you have written and snail mail it to THREE PARTNERS. This swap was created to encourage thoughtful introspection about the words of Christ, and what He was trying to communicate to us. Restrictions: Must be typed; Must have the scripture that you are referring to centered and isolated from the rest of the paragraphs you will write; Must be at least ONE, 8 ½ x 11 sheet, single to 1 ½ spacing, NO DOUBLE SPACING PLEASE. The “essay†can be more than one page but not more than 2 pages. If you have time, secondary sources of information and pertinent quotations are definitely appreciated. All are welcomed, however anyone who is “new†– please PM me so that we can chat before you are added to the swap. Thank you! |
