Description: | |
Sorry NO newbies at this time. The minimum requirement to join this swap is 4.99 because we need to feel comfortable swapping. I know that some people give bogus 1's and 3's from time to time so you don't have to have a perfect 5. However I did not feel comfortable lowering the rating requirement. I will check the ratings and I reserve the right to ban anyone from this swap. I wanted to do a "secret sister" type swap. The only problem is it isn't truly a secret since you can see who is sending to you. So I changed it to a friendly buddy swap instead. You will have one partner and you will be sending out packages to your partner for four weeks. Each week will be different. You will be sending out four different packages during four weeks. You will send one package per week. This swap will be USA only due to the cost of postage. If there is enough interest for an international version of the swap I can host one or you are more than welcomed to host one too. Week 1: Write an intro letter to your partner telling them about what you like, where you live, and whatever else you would like to share it should be at least two 8.5 by 11 pages and can be hand written or typed (if it is typed it needs to be at least one 8.5 by 11 page done in a font no bigger than 12). In addition to the letter send pen pal supplies (pens, pencils, papers, stamps, mail art supplies, note cards, letter sets, notepads, etc) you can be creative here as long as what you send has to do with things a person can use when mailing letters. Week 2: Write a letter to your partner and send something handmade.Something that you have made that you think your partner will like. It can be a card, something crocheted or knitted, personalized stationary, ATC's, homemade envelopes etc...the possibilities are endless. Just make sure it is something you would like to receive. Your letter should be the same length as the previous week it should be at least two 8.5 by 11 pages and can be hand written or typed (if it is typed it needs to be at least one 8.5 by 11 page done in a font no bigger than 12) Week 3: Write a letter and send a profile surprise. Read your partner's profile and send something that is specific to their profile. It could be something they collect, something that fits into a theme they like (for instance I love elephants so you could send something with elephants on it). Please pay CLOSE ATTENTION to their dislikes so you don't send something they would not like. Your letter should be the same length as the previous weeks it should be at least two 8.5 by 11 pages and can be hand written or typed (if it is typed it needs to be at least one 8.5 by 11 page done in a font no bigger than 12) Week 4: This is the final week so it should be extra special. Write a letter to your partner and send a package of things. You can send a combo of the things above or send something completely different. Be creative and make it extra special. This one should be at least 3 oz of stuff since it is the last one. NOTE: This is the only one that has a weight requirement. Your letter should be the same length as the previous weeks so it should be at least two 8.5 by 11 pages and can be hand written or typed (if it is typed it needs to be at least one 8.5 by 11 page done in a font no bigger than 12) What is left...Have fun! Send only high quality items that you would like to receive (meaning no rips, tears, foul odors, extremely warn items etc...). You should send your swaps each Monday but you will have until Friday of each week. Please post in the comments when you are sending each week and when you have received each week. Each week you should decorate your envelopes or hand make them...just as long as they are not plain white or manilla envelopes. That is one reason other than the theme of week 2 this swap is a type 3 swap. Do not join this swap if you don't think you will be able to meet the requirements. This should be a flake free zone. I will do my best to weed out known non raters, bad swappers, and flakers. I will be checking the flaker databases and all the profiles. If you know someone is a flaker please let me know. I hope there will be a lot of people in this swap. Happy swapping everyone! |
