Please note the requirements before joining! There is more involved than just sewing!

This will be a Japanese Cherry Blossom Swap Package. I love Cherry Blossoms (and any flowering fruit trees, actually) Denver's Cherry Blossom Festival isn't until June, and surprisingly, there aren't really Cherry Blossoms where it takes place, but it is fun with yummy food and Taiko Drummers! The dates of this swap are set for Spring and fitting for Cherry Blossoms!

It needs to contain at least these 3 items:

1) A medium-ish sized cross-stitch that includes a cherry blossom

2) A purchased item that contains a cherry blossom ($3-$5 price range)

3) A handmade or store bought card that has a cherry blossom on front, inside addressed to your partner with a nice message for Spring!

Extra info: Medium-ish cross-stitch (I think of a minimum 60x60 stitches) does not have to be finished into something (but it could be). If unfinished please leave about 2 inches around each side for future finishing. Ideas for purchased item could include a cross-stitch kit, a pattern with some of the needed threads skeins, a bookmark, a notecard set, a beauty item (I've seen tweezers, nail files, etc), fabric, ribbon, new sticker set, new washi tape, tin, journal, notepad, jewlery...That is all that comes to mind right now, but that is not the limit of choices, of course.

Please ask questions below or in PM as needed!

Send on time, send a nice package, communicate with your partner and/or me if needed. International. As with most of my swaps, sender's choice on items. Even though it is a group swap I still look over participants (I always do even when I don't have a rating minimum) and if it seems like you have problems fulfilling swaps like this I will remove you. As always, I would angel if needed.

Just a bit more on purchased item...because price is $3-$5 this would be a new, unopened item for most things.

There is a brand of shoe polish in the UK called Cherry Blossom! Not exactly suitable as a gift though ;-)

I once had a motorcycle in the color cherryblossom.... it was a sportsmotor which I used on the track and was really fast... the guys there joked a lot about the "fast pink lady".... owww I miss the good old times...... the motorcycle died in a crash some years ago.... still breaks my heart....

Ahhhhh, sounds really pretty (and fast).

I would love to join this swap, but at this time of year it is not so easy to find cherry blossom related items (it's all Valentine's day at the shops right now!). What I CAN buy are products like bodylotion, handcreme, etc that have cherry blossom scent. Would that be acceptable? But if my partner doesn't like any beautyproducts, I'm at a loss... :(

I know I love Cherry Blossom scent. That would qualify as they usually have a picture or drawing on the bottle. But yeah, if your partner doesn't want any beauty products it may not work so nicely even though this is sender's choice so your partner should rate a 5 if requirements are met, not only. If it was an item they wanted. But I also try to get stuff a partner. Would like, even on sender's choice, when possible.

Yesterday at a craft store I noticed single sheets of scrapbook paper that had. Cherry blossoms, a washi tape, and fat quarters. Didn't look at regular fabric yesterday, though - ran out of time.

If you have any Asian themed food or gift stores they may have some things. I plan on going to the Vietnamese stores nearby and a Japanese one downtown to check out what is available, too. Online stores might be a possibility? I've been looking there too and found some things.

(my phone keeps adding periods and ending sentences and I don't catch them all, sorry!)

Sorry one more idea - do you have any touristy, gift kind of stores or household type stores in your area? They may have something. Stores like Dille & Kamille, Hema, Casa, Blokker, Veritas, Six, Lili & Martha might have a random item here or there with a cherry blossom? Now I want to go shopping!

Sorry guys I would really love to participate in this swap, but due to extreme increase in international postage rates and customs, I have to drop out. I sent a 6x9 envelope yesterday with a mini cross stitch, a card, and tea bag for $10 postage. A customs form was required because of the 5x5 inch xstitch fabric, so I could not mail it as regular envelope international mail. Ugh!!!

If there is a US swap next time, Ill get in on that one😊

If anyone wants to host a swap just like this or with any changes at all and have it usa only or whatever their region is only, I never mind. Or if anyone wants to host it as a flat mini rather than all the details that is more than welcome, too.
