Please look out for more themed pocket letter swaps with the code word "PL" in the subject lines. ;)

Basics

  • 1 partner, international.

  • 1 nine pocket sleeve. Baseball, pokemon, trading card sleeves; any of these will do.

  • Senders choice regarding colours, themes, mediums, etc.

Requirements

  • You'll be creating a "pocket letter" for your partner using a 9 pocket trading card sleeve.

  • Each pocket in the sleeve will be filled with paper ephemera, stickers, stationery, art or something of the kind for your partner.

  • This is an open theme pocket letter and is senders choice. This means your pocket letter can be ANY theme, any colours. It can be a theme such as animals, your favourite colour, vintage or art such as ATC's or it can be random with each pocket having something different in it.

  • You are required to create a 2 pocket spread in your pocket letter. This means, a mimum of 2 pockets and a maximum of 4 pockets will spread and match onto each other. This could be:

~ A picture (collage, hand drawn) split onto 4 pieces of paper/card and cut into 3 pieces for each pocket. For example a face in half, an animal, a scenery. Or collage that splits onto 2 cards.

~ A quote that runs along 2 pockets, on paper or card

~ 2 pockets next to each other that are similar & "match" together... for example a black and red fading into each other.

~ A heart split into two, like a broken heart. Collage, drawn, etc.

The ideas are endless & there is no rights or wrongs. The other pockets can be filled with whatever you want. You could check your partners profile and try to include something they like, or you could fill it with what you think is best.

But I don't understand, what do I PUT in each pocket?!?!

~ 2 or 4 of your pockets will have your spread on them. This could be, for example 2 pieces of paper or card with your collage/picture/drawing/painting/quote. You're not required to put anything else with the ones that include your spread.

~ The rest of your pockets will have whatever you want. You could do art work; an ATC, a drawing on a piece of paper or card, a gelli plate print, a tag... Something edible; a tea bag, a mini snack. Mixed media; buttons, ribbons. You could put supplies in your pockets, for example ephemera/swap supplies. Small pieces of attractive papers, collage pieces, stickers/embellishments, nice quotes. You don't have to put items in the pockets, if you don't have them. Instead you could use it as a showcase for art (ATC's, drawings, a handwritten letter).

~ This pocket letter does not require a handwritten letter in any of the pockets (like usual pocket letters)

~ Your pocket sleeve can be folded and fit into a business envelope.

~ Please include a little note for your partner with your swap username & the swap name so you can be rated easily. :)

I've provided an example with the swap picture of a 2 pocket spread (the heart). I've also added more in the comments below.

Please don't worry about making art, drawing etc if you can't do this; you don't have to! There are many ways to go about this. Don't worry, too, about doing it "right"... Pocket letters are sort of a new craft trend and many of us are new to them. Just have fun and follow the basics. :)

Enjoy & happy swapping.
