Have you put your hands to making a Pocket Letter yet? I have and am really enjoying making them! Check out this site if you are not familiar with Pocket Letters yet. Everyone has their own style in making Pocket Letters, and the pockets can be filled with anything really, though Janette Lane gives a great beginning template you can follow if you're interested in starting a pocket letter. For this swap we are NOT making a pocket letter, however. We are going to make some envelopes that can go in the pockets of a pocket letter. It's a simple swap, making envelopes, so consider dressing those little babies up a bit. We will be making 5 mini envelopes. They must be no larger than 2-1/2"x3-1/2" and might need to be a tad smaller so that they can easily slide in and out of the pocket, and even smaller if you embellish them with anything dimensional. These envelopes can be various sizes (they must fit in the pocket, though) but at least 2 should be 2-1/2"x3-1/2". You can do the other 3 the same size or you can make them even smaller. You can send more than 5 mini-envelopes, but the minimum of 5 as described above should be sent. And the envelopes can be top loading (like a coin envelope) or the standard envelope look. This is an International swap since this doesn't weigh very much, the cost of 1 or 2 stamps depending on what you send in your swap. There are only 8 days to sign up for this swap and 2 weeks after the swap closes to send your envies. So to sum up, make 5 mini envelopes, 2 should be 2-1/2"x3-1/2", and the other 3 can be the same size or smaller. In one of the two larger envelopes, include a small handwritten note (use an approximate 5x7 sheet of stationery or note paper) to your partner which should also include the swap name and your user id. Any questions or comments, feel free to PM me. I will check all participants before assigning. We have a good group of swappers here at WIYM, so I don't anticipate having to drop anyone, but will do so if necessary. And I will Angel the swap if necessary, also. PS: The envelope in the swap graphic above (Yes that is an envelope, it's a top loading envelope!) is a Shabby Chic pocket I made for a group swap on YouTube. Probably overly embellished, but it was fun! There was a small gift inside, too! For this swap, you DO NOT HAVE TO EMBELLISH your envelopes, but if you want to embellish your envelope(s), feel free! It's not a requirement, however. :) |
