Description:

Welcome to a happy mail swap :)

This swap will have 2 partners. I recommend that you don't sit down and do both partners swaps one after the other, and perhaps spacing them apart (remember to send before deadline to both) so that you don't run out of inspiration :)

My inspiration for this swap came from a holiday insights website, I was very happy to discover that august is actually the national month for "ADMIT YOU'RE HAPPY"! Which I just thought was so cute... we often forget how lucky we are in life, how much we have to be happy about, recent things that have happened to us that made us smile big or small. So this swap is to celebrate happiness in all shapes, forms and sizes :)

Info // What to do

  • 2 partners, send 1 envelope to each partner. Size of envelope is senders choice, minimum weight is 1 ounce.

  • You'll decorate/mail art each envelope. Handmade, or store bought, please plaster your envelope in all things happy. Think bright colours, inspiring words/quotes, animals, inspiring photography/collage, artwork, happy doodles, fun stickers, wacky washi/deco tape. It's senders choice, get creative & make your envelope scream happiness :)

  • Don't stop there! Your envelope also requires 1 happy/inspiring quote. Please handwrite this, and you're welcome to use a favourite quote or perhaps lyrics you already know, or simply google "happy quote" - lots to choose from. Write a nice quote anywhere on your envelope to make your partner, and the post clerks smile.

  • Inside your envelope you will include 3 small flat profile surprises. There's no pressure on these and you can simply just send something you already have in your crafts/supplies that you don't need anymore. Nothing dirty, trashy, and only send nice things. Check your partners profile for favourite colours, types of stationery, brands, types of ephemera and collections. For example, "animal postcards", "stickers", "anything the colour blue", "tea" or perhaps "a bookmark"?. 3 items minimum, choose a variety :)

  • To go with the 3 small profile surprises, you'll include ONE small flat piece that you think is inspiring and happy. For example, sun sticky notes, sparkly washi tape, a cute animal postcard, an inspiring article from a magazine or newspaper, something humorous, etc. 1 piece of happiness to your partner. Senders choice.

  • You'll then include a letter that is **happiness* themed. This letter, how you write/present it, is senders choice. Ideas?

~ What are you grateful for?

~ write a list of joyous things in your life

~ write a list of small things that you always love to do

~ write about people in your life who make you happy

~ tell your partner what you do to stay inspired and how you find happiness in the darkest times

~ explain what happiness means to you

~ or you could write a big list about what makes you happy from certain foods, types of swaps to your favourite movie.

... The list is endless. Get creative and write a nice letter that shares your happiness with your partners.

Seal up all the contents and mail off your swaps.

This is a type 3 swap because this swap is crative & requires you to decorate and/or make an envelope for your partners. You're not required to send your partners a parcel. I know this swap sounds like a lot is required, but hopefully this will inspire you... you could get creative with this swap & make them both different, etc :) I ask you to spend time on them and send something you are proud of.

In a nutshell, to each partner:

  • 1 happy themed mail art / decorated envelope (you're not rated on your art work, so don't worry about that- just try your best)

  • a happy quote written on the envelope by you

  • a happy themed letter inside the envelope

  • 3 flat small profile surprises, and 1 senders choice happy themed flat surprise

  • mailed off on time.

enjoy the swap :D
