Description: | |
For this swap, you will need to send a Thanksgiving recipe with a difference to three swap partners. Everyone has some variation on sweet potatoes & marshmallows, a green bean something or other and a pumpkin pie, but what do you do that's unique to your family or neighbourhood? Maybe you use different spices in your pie, have a stuffing/dressing recipe that dates back to the Depression era or picked up a few tricks whilst volunteering abroad. With communities expanding and becoming ever more multicultural, traditions are changing and evolving, and once traditional dishes are being upgraded, exchanged and passed on to friends and neighbours. This is an ideal way to add to your holiday repertoire! My background is Canadian/English so whilst we may have missed Canada's Thanksgiving, I could sure as heck use some new recipes for my Christmas turkey dinner! You can send this swap on a recipe or index card in an envelope, or on the back of a postcard if you wish. Either is fine as long as it's legible and delicious! :) |
