Description:

This swap is for anyone who has been a super host and has some great suggestions beyond the usual of checking ratings, addresses and comments. Let’s make this an email swap so we all can share our great ideas.

How do you go above and beyond to ensure a drama-free, flake-free swap?
Really: what do you do when you host? What’s your process? Share with the rest of us! For example:

  • When do you vet?
  • How do you vet?
  • What about ratings?
  • When do you block?
  • When do you decide to give someone a second chance [if you roll that way…]
  • Are you in a flaker reporting type group and how does this help?

Here’s what you will do:

Tell your partners a bit about yourself that isn’t on your profile and then make a list of three things you do to ensure a great swap. Checking ratings, addresses and comments are the bare minimums for hosting and won’t count as ideas for this swap.

You will have 3 partners.

Of course newbie hosts are welcome to join as long as you have a completed profile, a rating of 4.97 and no late swaps on your dash.

Recap
* Write three good ideas for how to have a flake-free/drama-free swap.
* Email this list [don't PM] and a wee bit about yourself to ALL your partners.
* You must have hosted at least one swap.
* You must have a 4.97.
* There can be no late swaps on your dash.

Send on time and rate when you get your email in return with three tips. There is so much we can learn from one another!

Newbie hosts are the future of Swap-bot; we sure hope all you successful veteran hosts will give us some good advice—we just want to be like you!

I'd love to do this swap if you run it again with maybe 3 partners. :)

Yes, one tip could be that I would not make a swap with 20 partners (and especially not an electronic one) because who would want to keep track of all those people, whether they have rated/been rated or not? ;)

I agree. No more than 5 partners. 3 is ideal. We could always share our ideas with more people in the swap via a group mail summarizing the ideas from the hostess. We'd all send our email to her as well and she could compile the info and send it to us all.

Cool beans. Thanks for the feedback. I have changed the partners down to 3. See how I need these tips?!

lol! The 20 partners was my suggestion because I knew it would reset to the lowest number that signed up. I figured no more than five would sign up. I didn't want say - one person to be left out if six signed up, I figured all would be covered this way.

Three is easier!

I am learning, @Artsynerdgirl

BTY: I like @thebragal s idea. If everyone emails me their ideas, [after you send], I can send them to everyone in the swap. That way we all get these hot ideas.
