Mouseybrat, Your name should be in two different groups in the email. From what I see, you send one card to lark 2006, and send another card to Suzylucie. They will then just rotate through all four or five people in that group, until everyone has had everyones cards.

The baby is my daughter Lily who is now 19.I'm brand new to ACTs and she asked me to do the fairy baby card for her. She had seen some on a website. (I know the theme is kind of over done. Maybe that's why I got stuck!) Anyway...I called and told her about you and your daughter thinking she was a cutie. I swear I could hear her grinning ear to ear through the phone!!! I made a mistake - I will be mailing out to: susylucie, susan sleepingtraveler,barbara I finished adding onto squiggles cards. Again, I really really love the peeling technigue and I will be looking through my how-to books. I still need to start my ATCs; however, I am a newbie to this particualr art form so I had to wait and receive ATCs first. It was great to actually touch and look at the beginnings of the ATCs versus seeing images on the Internet. I could see how one could become easily hooked into making them. Thanks squiggles - you have inspired me!

JoAnne - I'm so glad you're getting into ATC's! The peel technique was sort of a made-up accident - I slapped some acrylic gel around, along with some thin strips of paper, then pelled them off before they dried all the way.

today i got two cards both from jewels... penny.... i got her card to start on.. which is cool it has a little hint of a theme but lets just say sometimes I skirt the rules... the other one I got is susilucies and its great already... I won't give anything away though... I hope you both love them when they are returned...also .... penny sent a great card with a great poem on it with hers and even though i really wanted to keep the card I sent it on, so that the rest of you could see it too, since I cant upload to swapbot... I did upload it onto flickr as chain atc swap thanks!

Group 1, group 2, Card 1, card 2, my head is spinning! (but it doesn't take much to start it LOL) Anyhow, I got a card from sarah, I add one thing, then mail it and another card to Samantha. Is this correct? this was for Card #2, group #1.

Now onto Card #1, group 2. Mine was the first name, so I sent a card to Lauren.She adds one thing, and mails it and another card to Jennie. Correct me if I am wrong, please.

no sending the extra cards, although im pretty sure no one would mind doing an extra... originally thats how it was going to be but it was very much if 1 person flaked then everyone would lose their cards.... so although its more complicated... you will always send to the same two people... samantha for group 1 and lauren for group 2. did you start 2 cards? if you havent sent your 2 cards, then yes send the card you recieved and a card started by you... but then after your first 2 cards are sent when you recieve a card, just send after adding one item. dont send an additional card... now Im confused!

Lark, Here's the deal:

You should have started only 2 cards of your own and sent one to Silverfishstudios (Lauren), and one to Mouseybrat (Samantha). Once you've done that, you are done starting brand new cards.

After that, you will start to recieve other people's cards from SimplySarah (Sarah), and Mouseybrat (Samantha).

You will add one thing, then send the cards that come from SimplySarah along to Mouseybrat . . . . . . and send the cards that come from Mouseybrat on to Silverfishstudios.

Eventually, you will get your own cards back.

Okay, I have a swap idea, but I haven't hosted a swap yet, and would rather not start with one that switches addresses around, so maybe someone else is willing to start this? I thought I'd post it here to all you "chain swappers".

I think it would be really cool to do a poetry chain swap. Each person would hand write the first line of a poem, and send it on. Every other person in the swap would then get it, each adding the next line in their own handwriting. In the end, we would all have a poem with each line written by a different person in their own handwriting. Wouldn't that be so cool?

I am a newbie and this particular swap is the best!!! I love that everyone is communicating, excited and having fun. This is exactly what I was hoping for! Plus I know I will learn something in the process. I loved Squiggles peel technique and plan on trying it out since she explained how she did it and I can't wait to see more cards, the techniques, the add ons.......fun-fun-fun!!!

Ughh!!! I WISH my mailman would hurry up and get here! I went shopping yesterday and found all kinds of cool papers, I want to play!

Just an idea that popped into my head; What if we went on to do another round? We already know we are GREAT swappers and the lists are already done. Card 1's list could become card 3's and card 2's list could become card 4's. I am thinking that it would need to be something we do independently. Sarah has already done a lot of work. Maybe a person from each group could volunteer to coordinate for their group. OR??????????? Any other ideas out there? Laura/Lark 2006

That sounds great to me, but I think it would get really confusing having two groups with the same people going at the same time . . .

Lark, maybe what would be easiest is instead of messing with Card #s and group #s is when we are finished, if everyone in each group agrees, just start all over again. Everyone starts a new card and groups and mailing order remain the same.

Whatever works for everyone, works for me too. We could also start a group like WLS (whole lotta swappers)that is by invite only for chain swappers and do books/journals altered boxes etc in addition to the ATCs.

if you all want to do another swap like this but morelike the original setup... where all of us simply send 2 started cards with 1 thing to 2people (total of 4 cards). each time you get an envelope of cards you send to the next 2 people after you. you take each envelope you recieve with 2 cards and put 1 in 2 different envelopes and then start one more card and again send 2 cards to each person. we could all start 2 envelopes when we recieve our originals of this swap back and I can email everybody everybody elses addresses....on a new list where we all send to each other?

Okay, I admit it is early in the morning and I am still drinking my coffee.......what???? As you can tell, I will need to read all of this again later in the day...I should never read messages this early in the morning...ha-ha-ha. But, I want to be part of the ATC swap.....also let me know what flickr is and how to use it etc......I am very new with all of this and need to learn.

Take a break, Flickr is very cool, it's actually how I found swap-bot. It's basically a photo storing/sharing website but a lot more. I started doing it because I was looking for a way to safely have a backup of all my photos, especially the old ones I can't replace. A couple of years back, we had two hurricanes make landfall in my town, two weeks apart to the day. I lost my roof in the first one and it obviously wasn't fixed or even tarped by FEMA by the time the second hurricane came. Long story short, I lost a lot of photos, old and everything that was digital because all my electronics got fried. Now I am very careful and I found Flickr.

I have uploaded pictures, some are digital, some I've scanned in. Anyone can look at them. I also post pictures of my swaps (when I remember), things I've made etc. It's cool because friends, family, swap bot partners etc can see and even download photos or order prints.

An example, Jewels had me as a partner in another swap, she looked at my flickr site, downloaded a picture of my dog daughter and made me a wonderful ATC from it starring...my dog, (which is now also posted on my site.) (the ATC, not my dog)

There is a lot more to it, groups etc. but the best way to find out is just to go and explore. WARNING...it's as addictive as swap-bot!!!!

This is so fun, and I can't believe how TOTALLY different the three ATCs I just worked on were from eachother, and they are all amazing! I made each of them a matching ATC envelope, just because they are so fun to make. I took pictures of them all before I sent them on, so once this is all done I'll post them, until then I don't want to ruin any surprises.

suzylucie - thanks so much for all the info on flickr. I am in a hurricane prone area also, (Tidewater, VA.) The last time we got hit hard was with Hurricane Isabel. Although we made it through okay, unfortunately the house three over, half of it got demolished...there are still some homes that have trailers sitting in front of them in certain areas of Tidewater....(these are the untold stories). We did not have utlities for almost three weeks, my son was without for 2 months...interesting huh, considering we have the most military bases surrounding are area within the USA. I digress, sooooo your idea of storing loved photos, etc. is an idea to act on. I will have to look into it. Right now we have been scanning slowly and/or storing photos to CDs.....but you have to remember to take them with ya'.

I GOT A FINISHED CARD!!!! I don't even know what to say, this has been such an amazing experience. All you gals that worked on the wierd bull card really outdid yourselves. Sarah, Laura, Samantha and Penny...you are very talented, creative and just freakin awesome women. The card is outstanding and the presentation, including all your notes is too cool. I love it and if you are each half as pleased with yours, as I am with mine, then we've all "done good"! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Yes, JoAnne, thank you so much for the seeds, they were such a wonderful surprise, and one of my favorite flowers! I'm going to plant them by the pond, they grow really well down there. I have huge flower beds everywhere, now if only Mother Nature would cooperate and let me get them in the ground!

You guys are welcome and enjoy! Gosh, I am getting more and more excited about the cards, etc. These are my first and I am so glad I am sharing this experience with a great group of people. Looked at the bull and was it really neat, inspiring, and I love the added notes. I'm already planning to frame the two that come back to me and hang them in a special spot in my living room. I'm also going to print out all of the comments for this swap and somehow incorporate them near the framed ATCs...Can't wait to see the ATC pouches. I am curious on what those look like and how they are made.

I started a journal kind of thing a while ago and tried keeping all the comments, notes from swappers, and pictures of what I sent and received in there, but as I get involved in more and more swaps it's getting harder to keep up and using buckets of ink printing everything out. I have been thinking of taking all the ATCS I've received and maybe hang them on a clothesline with little clothespins above my craft tables, haven't decided yet, though. I want them out where I can see them, too, take a break. There's a thread on the forum about how people store their ATC's.

YOU GUYS!!!! Thank you to Squiggle, Take a Break, and Suzylucie for an amazing work of combined art! One of my cards came back today, and it is so springy and sparkly, I just love it! What started out as a card with a couple flower petals on it turned into glittery magenta (my favorite crayon-box color) flowers, glittery adorable birds, and cool grommets along one end. It's definately going on display!

And Suzy, thanks for the surprise in the envelope (all 67 of them, I counted :D !)

GREAT NEWS!!! I received one of my finished ATC start cards. I plan to load an image to flickr.

Huge THANK YOU goes out to suzylucie, jewels, and squiggle. They had added an image of a raven, some jewels, and text to the card along with yarn embellishment. I could not have imagined how special this card would end up being. It is so ironic because the raven is one of my favorite birds, (its majestic and comical at the same time - I love to watch them on my back porch), and I love the turkey (have no idea why I love that bird - and it's not because of Thanksgiving dinner). Anyways I digress...I also received a very special handmade ATC case from Jewels to go along with the ATC card....this case was perfect! Once I receive my other finished ATC start card from sleepingtraveler, silverfishstudios, and squiggles these two ATC start cards & ATC case will all be framed together. Can't wait - and I'll be sure to keep flickr updated.

Also, want to give a huge THANK YOU to squiggle for making me one of her special ATC start cards with the peel technique for my own special use. Rosemary, when I first saw your ATC start card using this technique, and the colors you chose, it reminded me of walking through the woods in New Hampshire when the leaves were off the birch trees with the sunlight and blue sky appearing through the branches. Your ATC made me feel very spiritual, peaceful, and brought back some wonderful memories. When I finish this new ATC card, I will be sure to load an image of it on my personal flickr account so you can see how much you have inspired me! Thanks so much for your special gift!

Inky Squid, Here is a link to the template I use to make the ATC envelopes. I changed it a little, I wanted the top of the card to show, so I left the top flap off and cut the side flaps into more of a "v" at the top. Good morning all! I received my second finished ATC, and it is gorgeous and will be framed with my first ATC. What started out as a background of numbers with a tiny image of a man, ended up as a very creative and very interesting final piece of art work. Again, I have received another ATC that has inspired my creativity.
