Description: | |
Hello Sisters. For this swap, I want you to utilize nature's gifts. Go on a hike, or for a walk in your area, and find 5, smooth and semi-flat, palm-sized rocks. They don't have to be perfect, just easy for you to paint on. Please give back, or give thanks for removing them from where they were by leaving something natural behind, or simply thanking the Goddess. I prefer to pour a small amount of milk on the spot where I remove anything from nature. You will then paint each rock with a different Pagan or nature-themed symbol or scene. This means you can paint pretty much any natural symbol you want. It can be a literal Pagan symbol, such as the pentacle or triple-moon, or you can paint something from nature, like a tree, a leaf, an animal, a vegetable or fruit, a nature scene, a moon/sun/star, literally anything you fancy as long as it's natural and not altered or man-made things. And no Anglo-Saxon or Christian symbols, please. You may use any color paint you want, or simply white paint (which looks quite beautiful, actually). You can be as detailed or simple as you want with your paintings. Fun kick: FOUR OF YOUR STONES MUST BE PAINTED WITH THE ABOVE DESCRIPTION, AND ONE OF YOUR STONES SHOULD HAVE A SINGLE INSPIRATIONAL WORD OF YOUR CHOOSING. You can paint background designs on the stone with the single word, if you want. There are ZILLIONS of beautiful ideas on google images and Pinterest. But be creative and don't completely copy someone's work. If it's quite similar, just give the artist or webpage credit in your note. Send your 5 painted rocks to one partner. Add a little note with the swap name, your SB name and why you were inspired to paint what you did. You should let these completely dry before mailing. I would suggest wrapping each rock individually in tissue paper, then placing them in a cushion or bubble mailer so they don't bang against each other and either chip the paint or chip the actual rock en route. You have one month to send, since it may still be too chilly for some of you to go out rock-hunting. Sorry to be so detailed, I just want everyone to understand the requirements and not have to answer too many questions after I post this. I want this swap to be simple, therapeutic and artistic! You must have a 4.98 to join. This is a USA only swap, but if you want to do an international version, I can make you a host so you can do your own, OR I will do a private swap with you (I have zero problems painting lots of rocks!) ;) If something happens and you have to send late, please communicate to your partner. But please don't be late out of irresponsibility. Flaking will result in your immediate removal from the group as well as your name being posted in the Questionable Swappers and Hall of Shame forums. So don't flake! Message the group founder @Tiffaknee with any questions, comments or concerns. Have fun! |
