So excited! The RR journals from the last swaps are my treasures!

I am a sister to Jewels1.

Ever since I saw her journals from previous swaps, I have wanted to participate in a swap. Excited for the chance!

That is wonderful, and I agree...as she wrote, I treasure mine also! I am happy to welcome you, and hope you're have fun with this!

Everyone in this swap is taking on a major responsibility to agree to keep us informed, here on the site, by letting us know when you've received a journal (and WHOSE journal it is), and also when you send it onward.

Therefore, Everyone MUST give me a valid phone number, BEFORE the swap deadline!

I also expect that you will return to this page often, I might not be the only one keeping track of where each journal is, so you must keep us informed!

Should the journal be a specific size?

Hi, skippy dancer...I use one that it about 5" X 8", or 6x9... It's up to you, just keep in mind not to make it too big or heavyweight...it will be getting embellishments and add-ones, and I don't want it to be too expensive to mail.

It almost knocks me out, my oldest turns 40 this year!!! Ohhh yikes! I think it's harder on me than on him...he's got 6 kids, so it's just another day almost for him!

Haha, sometimes I think I'm the same age Gram! It's so wierd when your kids reach an age you remember being and think how different things are now than when you were that age! Time moves too fast. I hope Sphrung joins us, we need a couple more, I'm anxious to get started!

He said ""but mom, I'm 39".

I agree to the terms. This should be fun. What type/size journal is everyone getting for this?

The group size, at 7 was the number I am comfortable with. One of these new swappers, who just joined, is pcminini, who is brand new to swapbot, and has not added anything to her profile or received any ratings yet.

She needs to be more experienced, and receive some excellent ratings, because of the big responsibility we all take on in this group.
I have contacted her, to drop from the group, or I will have to remove her. I have also moved the deadline date, back, until she does.

When that happens, we will be at SIX swappers. If everyone is comfortable with that number, total, I will keep it closed, otherwise, I will re-open it, to try to gain some more...

What does everyone think?

from : gramsbuttonbox: To answer you here, it doesn't really matter too much, keeping in mind it will be traveling to several others, and you don't want it to get TOO expensive.

Personally, I use a small, 5 X 7 inch (by mead) with 80 pages.

A handmade journal would be lovely, I can hardly wait to see it, and "play with your book!"

Let's get this swap started! I am keeping at 6 swappers, partners will be assigned this afternoon.

Just a reminder that Swapbot has automatically assigned us a partner in the link above. We need to ignore that and send to the person GrAms assigned us, so we need to message our name and address to the person sending to us. Correct Grams?

Sorry, but no...we SEND to the partner that swapbot assigns us.

On one of the international RRs in the past, I did change it, so that the journals travelled in a straight line around the world, rather than bouncing back and forth.

On this, a USA RR swap, swapbot gives us that first partner, and yes, it might crisis-cross the USA more than once, ....and yes, swapbot does create a full circle, of making it around in a full circle.

I hope that helps, and hope to maybe see you in some of the future RRs, including international swaps, that I will run mid-summer.

I am so excited about this, I have been under the weather lately with a durn sinus infection but I am feeling better. My journal should be done tomorrow and I will mail it on Monday. I will be on the look out for yours PBJ 🤗

in the RR's in the past, I learned so much from everyone in the group, and dared to try new things, after the ideas and things I saw, as those journals came my way.

I agree with jewels, who was a part of several of them, you will be astonished by the creativity you will see....I hope it takes you by surprise and fills you with wonder!!!

Let me just say that when I was swapping before, (not just journals, any of the swaps) some would decorate the outside of the envelope they were mailing. Several of the decorated envelopes arrived torn or empty or not at all, so to safeguard against the temptation of a fancy envelope, we started mailing in plain envelopes. If we really wanted to make a pretty package, we would enclose the decorated envelope inside a plain one. Just some food for thought!

.....when you send or receive a journal, please only post WHOSE journal it is. I already know who it is being sent to, and who you received it from.

As I wrote earlier, I might not be the only person keeping track, and if the posts contain all three names, (who you got it from, who you are sending it to, and whose journal it is) things can get awfully confusing.

I do so appreciate how eager and conscientious everyone is, but for this one part, keep it simple, please....that "name" should be the ONLY name in a post, as in "sent gram's journal today"

?..also, About tracking numbers...if you have one, yes, please post it privately in a msg to your partner - do NOT post it here. I do not want too much personal info "out there" -

ALSO - as we work in each other's journals, we will get to know their first names. Unless they have posted it here, to the group, please do not post it FOR THEM...thank you everyone!

Please do not post the titles or themes of the journals, because most of us do not know that until we receive them...

We already know who everyone receives from, and who you are sending to...

But I want this to be a successful and wonderful swap, with EVERY journal finding its way safely home!

Susand622 has logged into swapbot, today, but has not been to this site, or posted anything silence April 13...that's TWO weeks with no contact. Tomorrow is the deadline to get your first journal sent.

As of right now, I have left word with SheisCrafty to NOT send anything to her.

I have tried calling, and posting to her, privately, but all I got was her voicemail, and have not gotten any response from her hrtr either. I will wait SIX more hours, for her to contact me.

It may be necessary to bypass her, if she does not contact us, and that would mean that SheisCrafty sends to jewels1...

I'll keep you all informed.

I was mixed up on the dates, everyone...the mail deadline (for your first swap) is May 3, as it says in the swap. If you've already sent your own journal out, you're fine)

I will be moving the dates forward, so you won't keep getting reminder emails from swapbot, Youcan ignore those new dates.

As I've written before, it is kind of your own responsibility to ke p track of your "8 days" and keep the journals moving.

I am eager to get this swap moving in full swing, and hope out are all ready to be inspired and encouraged!

Hello all. I hope everyone is well. I received skippy dancers journal today all though it must of arrive at the beginning of the week our ever so caring mail carriers from He** delivered to the wrong place again Thank god they got home today and delivered to me instead of like Sunday or I would of way behind.

SheIsCrafty...thank you so much for keeping us informed, I think we all understand postal and other "real life" glitches. I'm just so happy you got it by the weekend, and hope you can spend some leisurely hours playing with it!

Susand622 is OUT of this swap. There has been NO contact with her, since her last post, that she had received my journal on May 16.

No, my journal was never sent onward. And yes, I have her journal right now.

I have been calling every day, with no luck. There has been NO contact. Her home phone has been disconnected, her cell goes to voicemail. I've left many messages, but do not receive a callback.

Once before, she "left the swap", with no contact, ut then returned. I am sorry if anyone disagrees, with my decision, but my trust has been damaged. This swap in particular, required and demanded a larger level of commitment, and yes, she agreed to that.

IF she contacts me, it will have to be a decision of the whole group, whether we could let her return.

Hi, i sent jewels1 journal on 6/1/2014, and i posted it here. The only way i knew it arrived was i saw it was being sent onto the next person. I requested that people post when they receive as well as send. .it just seems helpful to do that. Susan622 should have been my next journal, but we know she'll be skipped, so, then sheiscrafty will be my next journal. This is starting to drag for me, sorry gals, but between the vacation and the drop out, its gotten stale. I will NOT flake, but the thrill is gone.

I currently have no journal in my possession.

Thanks for letting us know...and I agree, there's been a little too much drama in this swap... at least .yes, thanks I will also diligently work on journals I receive...

Oh good lord I feel so bad now because I had sent your journal to her Gramsbuttonbox. That makes me so upset!! Well now I know why she never answered any of the messages that I had sent to her. I loved doing this swap and always made sure I worked on them in a timely matter and got them back on the road again. Durn it that really makes me mad, I don't know how someone can feel ok doing that to someone!!

I was hopeful, but have lost quite a lot of faith...

And this was one of my most favorite and fun swaps that I was ever involved in!

Jewels (Penny) is having a serious family emergency, right now, and is unable to participate at this time, but assures me that if we keep her in the swap, she will do so fully, when she is able to return.

Right now, she has sheiscrafty's journal, ready to mail, as soon as she is able.

Just so you all know...jewels is the "original" swapper, that inspired me so much, in the journal swaps I hosted several years ago. My feelings at this time, is that I am very willing to wait for her return, to work on subsequent journals that come her way!

Her dad's health is very serious, right now...her family could use and would appreciate our prayers, and kind thoughts.
