I have run an ATC version of this swap as a public swap several times before, and the results have always been hilarious and a lot of fun. You will make one ART for one partner. Your ART can be done in any medium you are comfortable with and should include a background, a middle ground (or focus) and some sort of accent. For example, I might do a water colour wash first. Then try to draw some cute kittens in the middle in ink pen. Then maybe I’ll bust out a gel pen and draw a bow on the kitten. Or, you could collage a background, stamp a middle ground, add a brad embellishment. The possibilities are really endless. The subject matter etc of the ART is sender’s choice. And did I mention, you must make your ART while BLINDFOLDED. There are a few ways you could go about this. If you are a master of dexterity, you can use a precut "canvas" and go straight to work blindfolded. If you are human like the rest of us, you can start with a bigger piece of paper, go crazy, then cut it down to desired size somewhere in between things (yes, you can take off your blindfold to cut your ART to size, I’m not a monster.) A few tips for success Make sure your ART is sturdy enough to mail. You may apply extra glue/tape/sticky stuff to the piece with your blindfold off if needed. Don't send flimsy work. |
