bunting: decorative flags, pennants, and streamers garland: an ornamental chain of flowers, leaves, or ribbons hanging in a loop or curve between two points Welcome to the Bunting/Garland Swap! I'm Melissa. For our purposes, let's define bunting/garland loosely to be a handmade string or chain of fabric, paper, dolls, papel picado, crochet, knitting, ornaments, found objects, felt, etc. I've seen them made of glass, too, but that would increase postage considerably. For our swap, your garland/bunting should be at least 6 feet long, and the easier to make or less expensive the materials used, the longer it should be. If using fabric, the edges should be finished. Each end of the garland should have some sort of loop/hook/thingamajig for easy hanging. A lot of garlands/bunting are triangular, but any shape goes. Here are some links to inspire you, including some tutorials: This swap is open to anyone with a rating of 4.5 or higher and a well-filled out profile. I will be checking profiles before assigning partners, and removing anyone who doesn't meet the requirements. If you have concerns about someone on the participant list, please let me know. As this is my first time hosting a swap, there may be additions to this description--please be patient with me--and if you have advice for me, I'd love to hear it privately or in the comments. I have started a Swapbot Group for Garlands, and hope to have seasonal/holiday swaps set up in the near future. If you would like to be an officer of such a group along with me, please let me know. Please join the group here: Garlands, Bunting, and Prayer Flags Happy Swapping! |
