Hello lovelies!! So a good ol' swap is returning to SWL!! Remember those lovely envelope books we used to send to each other? Well, they are making a return! Woot woot!! Here's to round...10 I think.... So...for those who are new to this swap... or lost their memories... here's a recap of what a envie book is - An envelope book (aka Envie Book) is a book made of envelopes (simple right?). But! You can get really creative with it! Include pockets, dangles, tags, flaps, nooks and crannies to tuck things in. Envelopes should be handmade, although you can include already made envelopes within your book so long as the majority are handmade. They can be of different sizes or of the same size. The front and back doesn't need to be an envelope - it can be cardstock, postcards, thick patterned paper - so long as it has envelopes/pockets inside. Make sure each envelope inside your paper book is stuck or binded inside and secure. They can't be loose and fall out. What you use to bind/secure them is up to you, book rings, sellotape, ribbon, twine, etc. In each envelope/pocket, you put a little surprise for your partner. Decorate as you like. Remember, don't panic about your book not being 'right' - this is all about creativity! Put your heart into it and I'm sure your partner will love it!! What goodies to include - stickers * ephemera * Project life cards * paperclips * die-cuts * labels * sticky notes * enamel dots * adhesive crystals * ribbons * twine * yarns * buttons * papers * tags * bows * washi tape samples Anything that fits that you think your partner will like. There doesn't have to be a particular theme, but please make sure you put inside things that your partner will like. Here's a tutorial I did ages ago on how to make a ring bound Handmade envie book Here's a few more ideas - Here's some envelope flipbooks which are very, very similar. They are very nearly the same thing but flipbooks are more for penpals and the envelope books are mainly just full of goodies. Swap requirements

Being as this may take some time I will make it a longer send date. But remember, the theme is senders choice - you can start making it now if you wish! I will angel if need be but be lovely and don't flake on your partner! Any questions just let me know! |
