Description:

Recently, I participated in a really fun swap called Flat Goodies! For this swap, I wanted to include the idea behind Flat Goodies but make it themed for extra challenges.

For this swap, you will have one partner. You will put together one 6X9" envelope, stuffed to about 3/4" thick. You can stuff as many flat goodies into it as you like, but they should all follow a Travel theme.

Ideas:

Stationary Used stamps Unused stamps Scrapbook embellishments Magazine pictures Scrapbook sheets Stickers Book pages Script in foreign languages Travel brochures Customs stamps

I'm sure you can come up with other stuff too!

This is an international swap. No one with more than 1 no-send (unless you contact me first). Newbies are always welcome (but please fill out your profile).

Such a coincidence - I was just on ebay looking at travel ephemera - this is perfect! I hope my partner is outside the US!

I just joined one of these flat swaps and will gladly join this one, I love these flat thingy's. Yep still new to this but I'm willing and able.
Going to work on this tomorrow while the kids are in school woohoo.

Has anyone thought of starting one of these flat swaps for the larger manilla envelopes that carry 10x11 papers? Maybe it not be so thick, like maybe 1/2 inch thick. Some of the papers I wanted to add to the other swap I am in I had to fold. And making it a 2 person swap?

Fiona2277- Hi, Your package is all made up. I don't know how long it will take to get to you from CA-USA so please be patient. It's all taped up too lol. Hopefully it makes it there in one piece. I am going to mail it today but won't check off the send button till I get home. Please let me know when it arrives. Heather

ArtsyKira-I received your package. Really interesting stuff. The best part was one of the envelope pieces with the last name of Tanaka on it. My sister's last name is Tanaka. So now we have to speak to her inlaws to find out if anyone is related to the envelope piece. She's going to call when she gets home. Thx Heather

ArtsyKira 03/23/2007 #

Wow, Heather, that's really cool. Thanks for letting me know it arrived!

Ok, Friends, what will you be doing with your collections of travel goodies? Will you guys kindly post something you create from your travel package? Also please post pictures of stuff you got. I just LOVE to be inspired. Plus it gives me ideas for what to include in the NEXT flat goodie swap! Warmly, Chy

Craftlover10101 04/ 5/2007 #

I would post pic's on my flickr but I can't find my cable for my camera lol And I don't have a clue what I will do with what I got.

user5574 04/ 6/2007 #

Well, I don't have a digital camera, Chy, but I can describe what I received from Ceske yesterday.

  • a Lonely Planet guide to secrets of 100 cities
  • a travel-size toothbrush and toothpaste package from Japan
  • seashells from a beach in New Zealand
  • 2 small red envelopes with Chinese pictures on them
  • 2 pins/buttons
  • a St. Christopher (patron saint of travelers) medal
  • coins from Fiji and New Zealand
  • a blank card/envelope with a travel theme
  • a cutout which reads 'Bon Voyage'
  • 2 postcards from Auckland
  • 2 general New Zealand postcards
  • 1 postcard from Paris
  • a photo of Parkari Beach
  • a wooden bookmark with a plane on it
  • a tourist booklet for Auckland
  • a few mailers for outdoor adventures and New Zealand holidays
  • an envelope flip-book of sights to see on South Island, NZ
  • a receipt from Tokyo Disney, in Japanese
  • a map of the Tokyo Subway system

All in all, it was an incredible package.

Well I'm not liking the shipping overseas. I'm going to start shelling out the cash for the faster shipping. 4 to 6 weeks is driving me nuts ugh. I'd rather spend the $ for the partner to get it faster and for me to feel easier lol This stinks.
