Description:

I challenge you to search your stash of papers and goodies and put together a lovely Junk Journal for your partner. The theme The Seasons, by that i mean Spring , Summer, Fall/Autumn and Winter. Each little book should have four signatures each one dedicated to one of the four seasons.

Generally made out of old books covers, junk journals are sweet little books using "junk" or paper and scraps from your stash. Many people enjoy tea or coffee dye-ing their chosen paper before making the signatures. I personally love adding lined paper that has been tea stained/dyed.

The cover should be at least 4inches by 6inches, feel free to make it larger. Can be made from foam sheet, old second hand book cover, or a file folder made sturdy to be a cover.

Four signatures, each signature should contain a minimum of five pages, making the signature ten pages in the book. A signature is a grouping of papers gathered together and folded in half to make one section in a book.

Please bind the signatures with string, for a tutorial please copy and paste the links i have added.

Embellish the pages while leaving lots of room for writing. Embellishment ideas can include but are not limited by envelops, pictures, lace, washi, stamping, tabs, doilies, ephemera,

The cover of the book should be decorated as well. I love creating a mixed media decorated cover but also enjoyed adding a simple tasteful picture to the outside or just some lace.

please make something you would appreciate receiving. Any questions or comments please write below and or Private message me.

Here are some you tube tutorials for junk journals. I can not wait to see what you make :0)

Hi!! I'm really excited about that! It's new for me. After Pocket letters, flipbook. I feel excited to try something new!!

I have a question, maybe it's my english level that doesn't follw the calcul: four signatures of five pages... isn't 20 pages is it?

Sugardragon 04/27/2017 #

Hello @dodie i am glad you are giving something new a try.. this shoulf be fun. 😀

I specify five pages per signature and a signature is made up of pages that are folded in half and bound to the book at the fold. Thus five pages become ten, ten for each signature and 40 for the whole book.

Thank you for the question and please dont hesitate to ask more 😁 always happy to clarify! 😄🌹🌺🌻🌼

Dodie yes it is 20 pieces of paper but because they are folded in 1/2 it makes a total of 40 pages :) i agree with you this one will be fun and i am excitd to see what comes of it

So excited. I just finished sewing mine. Time for embellishments. If my cover is card stock that was run through an old printing press a bunch of times (covered in green ink and letters right side up and upside down) and tied with lace do I have to decorate more or is that good enough?
