Description:

Never Ending Art Cards. A thing I just made up? Possibly. It's a take on the never ending cards that are pretty popular in scrapbooking and the like.

I made a tutorial on how to do this on youtube. So if you want to see how to do what I am talking about that's a pretty dang good source if I say so myself.

For this swap you will be making a Never Ending Art Card. You can do any theme you want. Each of the 4 pages should be distinct from the others so you have a nice contrast between them.

You can do any medium you want. Drawn, mixed media, collage, whatever. But each page has to be well decorated. Like, hand made postcard quality decorated.

Make sure you use a sheet of 8.5 x 11 paper so your book turns out the right size. You can definitely use printer paper for this or a light card stock. Make sure that your never ending card folds easily before you send it and that it isn't wrinkly or horrible.

Your creation is sender's choice (:

If video tutorials drive you nuts, here's a short flip through of my prototype on instagram and below is a template I found online that you can frown at until it makes sense.

In the future I hope to host themed ones of these, but since I have no idea if this is even a thing or not, I figured a free themed one would be good for getting our toes wet.

Answers to questions literally no one asked, but I anticipate might get asked if I don't address them.

Your never ending card can be oriented either way. It doesn't have to be "portrait" orientation. Do what feels right to you, personally I think having the "pages" flip orientation between folds would be jarring and kinda blah but if you make it work I'm not saying no. you do you.

These should be sent in an envelope. If you want to test out naked sending on your own time, lmk the results!

Ahahahaha, I love the tutorial Met!

Heh, thanks. I definitely felt ridiculous doing it 😏 not that I ever don't feel a bit ridiculous.

Ooh, just a tip. I am finding the more I work on my actual one that if you are adding a lot of layers, gently scoring over the creases does wonders for restoring foldability.

Ooooh, it's like a hexaflexagon! But rectangular. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIVIegSt81k

Yes! Except I cannot wrap my damn mind around hexaflexagons. They must have about 57 hidden sides to them.

Mine is slowly coming together. I have a feeling this is going to make an excellent abandoned art project in the future!
