Addition 28.4.17 - Please allow a reasonable amount of time for letters to arrive, post can be fickle and things could take longer than they should, I would leave at least three - four weeks. Get in touch with your partner if you are concerned, before rating them a one.

Write, or type a 2-3 page introduction letter about yourself and mail it to your partner, typed or handwritten, no size limit, but don't use tiny paper - A5 is smallest permitted. Not a mass generated letter either, please - make it personal, ask questions. Any extras are up to you. Ask questions, or it may be good to comment on something they have on their profile.

I hope that participants may find a pen pal with similar interests. Add your address to your letter for a reply.

If, and it may happen, you don't have anything at all in common with your partner, or there is a wide age gap, and you can see no reason for writing back, let them know in a polite manner, either in your rating comment, or on their profile comments, or even at the end of your initial letter, to save on overseas postage.

But you must send an initial introduction letter to your partner regardless of whether you have anything in common.

Be fair with your rating, especially if the above paragraph applies. Don't rate them a 3 just because you won't be writing back, or because they won't be writing back to you.

Newbies to the group are welcome, but you must have a profile of more than one paragraph. I will check everyone who joins up, newbie or not.

Added 11.5.17 I will angel if you have had no reply from your partner after a reasonable time after Deadline. Message them first though to see if they have a problem.
