What is a maxicard? It's a post card where there is a stamp and postmark on the picture side of the card. This postcard picture, stamp and postmark are all related to the same theme. You may still need to put normal postage on the card to send through the postal system. In this swap, you will send 1 maxicard of any theme to 1 partner. The maxicard must be store bought (no ad, free or handmade) You must send the postcard naked, written and stamped. Feel free to add a nice message to your partner about you, about the postcard or whatever you want... You must have at least a 4.98 rating to participate, without 3 or 1 unresolved recently. Newbies are welcome only with a very complete profile (if your profile is empty or very brief, you will be banned from the swap). I will check each profile before assigning partners. Some Maxicard History from - The Wonderful World of Maximum Cards, By Giorgio Migliavacca © "Maximum cards were born in Egypt in 1893 by sheer chance. It happened when a tourist mailed a picture postcard depicting a pyramid and the Sphinx to a friend in Germany. Contrary to postal regulations, he decided to affix an Egyptian stamp featuring the said monuments on the view side of the postcard instead of the address/message side. Four months later, under similar circustances, Portugal saw the birth of the second maximum card. Whether it was by design or purely accidental we may never know; what is certain is that it was the beginning of a long journey into philately that culminated in 1978 when the International Federation of Philately (FIP) recognized maximaphily as an official branch of philately." - The Wonderful World of Maximum Cards, By Giorgio Migliavacca © Also see wikipedia. Please consider: • Don't forget to include your Swap-bot ID and the swap name in the postcard. • Mark the swap as sent as soon as possible after sending (not before). • If you are going to delay in sending, please tell your partner • This is a swap flaker free, drama free and negative-people free. However if you are flaked on let me know and I will angel after you have rating with 1 the flaker. Acknowledgement to fellow co-ordinators: For running so many interesting swaps; and offering sage advice. I now know how much work is involved:) Standing on the shoulders of giants: I have borrowed your words in my swap description simply because I don't think I could write it better. Thankyou! Suggestions & feedback welcome. Do you have a preferred maxi card theme? Should we have multiple partners or cards per swap? |
