Description:

Zakka :This type of crafting originates in Japan. It is the crafting/recrafting of useful things. Although these items should be useful, what makes it so truly Japanese is the art and beauty with which it is made. It is also the cultural norm that all items have a place, be it a box, shelf, nook or bag. So our first project will be a small bag.

Always wanted to do those pretty Japanese Crafts but they looked too complicated? Learn now! Please don't let this project intimidate you:D If you can sew a straight line you can do this project!

We are all going to use the same basic pattern, it is up to you to make it special for your partner! After sign ups I will email each of you a copy of my pattern and instructions. See my blog for pictures of this and future projects.

To encourage beginners to Japanese handcrafts, Newbies are welcome to join (I will angel if necessarily), but no 1's in the last 6 months. PM me if you need an exception.

This will be a US only swap.

OMG! Looks so sweet, yet so complicated! Are you sure a newbie can do this?

I have always seen stuff like this and thought it was so beautiful but looked so hard to make. I can't wait to get started on mine. If it looks good I may make more for Christmas gifts.

I teach at my local college. My non college students have been children to seniors. All my students have very nicely completed ALL my projects:D

This looks like a lot fun! I'm always telling myself that I want to do fun, crafty projects but I always worry about not doing it perfectly. I guess it's time to step out of my shell and try something new :-) I'm looking forward to seeing the pattern and starting my very first Daffodil Bag.

Where'a link to the pattern?

Pavla 11/17/2008 #

The is no link, I will send the bag, via email, to those who have signed up once partners are assigned. You can view this and other projects at by blog. http://justcreateart.blogspot.com/

Parners Assigned. Patterns sent out.

If you did not receive the email, or couldn't open it, pm or email me. Enjoy!

I sent out a MS version and a PDF version, if these are not working for you please email me.

Just as a heads up, not every bag will be exact, some printers will print a little differently, and well these are hand made. Machine sewing or hand sewing is fine.

Remember, we are all learning a new craft, it is the effort that counts!!!
