Description:

This is a collaboration postcard and swap. It is similar to our regular Pass and Paste postcards (as it will have rounds), but in this series.......all artists will work on one side of the postcard forming one large collaboration of art. These are some of my favorite mail art postcards.
You can start in at any time. For your first round, you will start a postcard. To begin a postcard, address the backside of the postcard to yourself. Divide the writing portion into 3 or 4 sections, for collaborating artists to write their notes, swap info, user names, etc.
On the front side, the person starting the postcard will add some Art as a base...can be collage, mixed media, painting, whatever. Each following round, the next artist will add 2 or 3 elements, and then pass it on to the next artist for the next round. On occasion you may get a partner whose card you are working on.....Do not send the artist who started the postcard their own card to work on. If this happens to you, simply start a new card, and hold that one till the next round, or you can always send it to me. When all artists have completed the sections on the back, it is ready to be sent home to the original starter.
If you send a card home to the original artist, you may need to start a new postcard to send to your partner.
The postcards can be any size. They will be mailed in an envelope between artists, until the maximum number of artists/spaces is reached, and then it will be mailed Naked back to the original starter of the postcard. The person sending the postcard home will add the postage. The end result is a collaboration piece of art from 3-4 artists. No stickers please.

If you have any questions, just ask.

I would love to see these when they are finished......if you can, please post a picture in our forum. Please remember to put your user names and the swap name on each postcard you send out.

Have fun.

I'm interested in joining but have a stupid question. :) How does this series of swaps end? Say I send a postcard with three blanks spaces on the address side. After I do three rounds my postcard should return to me and I'm done. Right?

Yes and No. Yes, that is when your postcard should come home. Though sometimes it may be delayed, if you happen to be assigned as the send to partner, the person who has it would hold it until the next round so that you should get 3 different people working on your card before it returns home. After all, it would be no fun to receive the card back with 1 or 2 blank spaces on it. Opposite to that, sometimes they are sped up, say you send your postcard out the day partners are assigned, then your partner receives it and sends it out to their partner, all in the same round of the swap, then you will receive yours home quicker. And, as long as you keep signing up for the swap, there is no end. ;D Just like any swap, you are committing to fulfill that swap and that is all that is required. I do ask, that when you decide you want to stop these swaps, either do it when you get a postcard that you are sending home to someone, or send me any that still have spaces on them that need filled in. That way, there aren't any just sitting around, that we keep them in play.

Thanks Angela. Appreciate the detailed response. I would never stop with a partially filled pc in my mitts. 😀 But now I see how I would be done after so many rounds. Looks like fun and I'm going to give it a go!
