Scavenger Hunt Fabric / Sewing Swap
Swap Coordinator:mboclair (contact)
Swap categories: Sewing
Number of people in swap:23
Location:Regional - US only
Type:None
Last day to signup/drop:January 20, 2009
Date items must be sent by:January 30, 2009
Number of swap partners:1
Description:

You will send 5 fabric or fabric/sewing related items to your partner. Things like fat quarters, ribbon, thread, buttons, seam rippers, iron-ons, pincushions, etc. would work.

Each item must go for one of the following categories:

Something black and white

Something with red

Something with polka dots

Something sharp

Something spring colors

Some examples:. Send your partner a yard of black and white ribbon for #1, a spool of red thread for #2, a fat quarter for #3, a seam ripper for #4, and a yard of fabric for #5.

Or a spool of variegated thread for #1, a roll of yarn for #2, a yard or two of #3, a package of pins for #4 and an pincushion for #5.

As you can see, you can get really creative with this and have some fun.

Or I could send 5 fat quarters that fit each of the categories. But you cannot send five items for only one category (like 5 something blue) or one item for all five categories. There must be five items. And all of the categories must be represented.

Items can qualify as more than one category. A fat quarter that would work for the something black and white and something polka dot but use it for one category only.

You could make some of the items – as long as they fit one of the categories and are fabric / sewing related. So let’s say you want to make a polka dot needle book for #3 that’s fine because it would be polka dot.

Inlcude a note explaining what item is for each number .

Now the rules: There is no dollar amount set for this swap but I ask that you not send junk or used items. Also no little scraps of fabric. If you are going to send fabric it must be a minimum of a fat quarter. And with ribbon, it must be a minimum cut of one yard. And I ask that you check your partner’s profile for likes/dislikes. Sending your partner blue embroidery thread would work but if they don’t embroider, it’s useless.

This swap is US only and open to swappers with ratings of 4.5 or higher. I reserve the right to ban swappers at my discretion. Newbies- profiles must be filled out.

If you have questions about this swap or something isn’t clear, please pm me. Thanks!

This swap came from a similar one that was done in the past by another swapper. I do not try to take credit for coming up with the great idea!

Sounds great! Good job making up the swaps, you really jumped right in!

You may have to help me out since these are my first ones! :)

I like skull fabric and bright colors. Please no pastels! As for something sharp - I have too many pins and stitch rippers. I could use some machine needles....I have an ancient elgin deluxe, a brand new cheapo serger from sears, and a brother embroidery machine...so anything goes!
