I am hosting this swap with the hope of giving my son a happy, memorable birthday despite our shelter-in-place order being continuously extended. He went on spring break and they cancelled school before the kids returned. They will not be going back until the new school year begins after summer (and even that is not certain). The kids didn't get to say goodbye to each other, and being in second grade, he's never really thought of getting his friends' contact information (nor did I, and without their parents' names I can't find them on social media either). He is very lonely and is looking towards his 8th birthday with a lot of disappointment (our governor has stated there are to be no gatherings for Memorial Day or Independence Day), he has anxiety and ADHD, and homeschooling and being forced to stay home is really taking its toll. Johnny's birthday is May 26th, right after the Memorial Weekend non-festivities. The area we live in is not conducive to those cool drive-by parades I've seen online, so this is the next best thing I could think of. If you so choose, it would be extremely awesome if you could send a postcard, a note card or birthday card to Johnny. He's received postcards from Swap-Bot users before, and he gets so excited; I know getting mail from different parts of the world would really lift him up on his birthday. I will be keeping whatever mail he gets until his birthday, so he has a really cool surprise on his special day. If you'd like to do this, just message me for our address.
