CHARM DETAILS: · Maximum size is 1.5 inches x 1.5 inches · Each charm must have a sturdy jump ring · Size max does not include jump ring · Packaging must include bubble wrap · Make 5 DIFFERENT charms for 3 partners · Edges should be finished and not rough · For each parnter you will make one charm interepreting the five elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit.

FEATURED CHARMS were created for the Five Elements Creative Expression Swap and inspired the idea for them. You can see bigger pics at that swap gallery here http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/2437 or on the charms blog http://www.charmswaps.blogspot.com/

Use your creative genius to create wearable art charms for your 3 different partners. These should be sturdy and finished. Other than the main Elemental Theme and size 1.5 or under, your choices are wide open. Play with collage, polymer clay, beads, wire, found objects etc. Anything goes – show us your creative shine…and let us wear it!!

· SHIPPING: Due to the possibility of breakage, all charms should be sent secured in bubble wrap or a bubble envie. It shouldn’t cost much to send. I just received 5 charms from another artist for $0.52 in a bubble envie. I kept this a US only swap so that you can be open with your materials without having to worry about the international mailing restrictions.

· CHEMICALS & SMELLS: You have time to air out your charms if you use adhesives or sealants that stink. Do so. Your partners should receive quality, finished charms. Don’t seal them and send off until all scents are gone and you’d be proud to pick it up in a store and buy it yourself.

· RATING SPECIFICS: If you fail to send your partner one charm for each of the elements: earth, air, fire, water & spirit, they are justified in rating you a 3. Same thing if you don’t use bubble wrap, or send them envelopes reeking of adhesives and chemicals.

· NEWBIES: You will be allowed to sign up for this swap. Everyone deserves a first chance, and this is an excellent way for you to boost your ratings quickly.

· RATINGS 4 and ABOVE: Will be allowed to play. I also believe that everyone deserves a second chance, but if you’re below 4 you will be banned, because most likely you’ve already had a few second chances.

· FLAKERS & SWAP ANGEL: As I am allowing 4 and above ratings, as well as newbies into this swap, I will be the swap angel on any members who flake. However, if you flake you will be listed as a bad swapper on my Charms Blog and banned from all future swaps.

Okay, I think that’s about as complete as I can be. Maybe over so….if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via swap-bot or email me at [email protected]

I will be hosting multiple “themed charm swaps so we can all have some lovely art wearables for the summer months and beyond!

SEND OUT DATE: Please note, the send out date is May 15, 2007 - just five days past the final sign up date. The reason for this is you have plenty of time to sign up and start creating and I like people to be able to rate parnters expediently.

Just an observation...The last day to sign up can't be the same as the send-by date. The option to assign partners won't appear to the host until May 11.

I have a comment about the short space between sign up and mail date, too. Some people don't find the swap until fairly close to the sign up deadline, and it's a shame to have to miss out if the mailing date is so close. A week would be nice. Even I can make 5 nice charms in a week! Cyn

This sounds like fun, too bad I have a few other things going on between now and the 11th. I hope you'll have another interesting one in a month or so!

Actually, the option to assign partners appears same day or next day of the close. I will be posting additional swaps, and will consider a one week mail out timeframe. I just hate waiting for the ratings, and am a firm believer that it's better if people have their items made when they actually sign up for a swap.

Thanks for all your input though.

I want to apologize to my current swap partners that I am running a little late. My sister needed to come up immediately to start getting moved in. We've been working three days straight and I have had no time for anything else...even sleep! After work tomorrow, I am dedicating my late afternoon and evening to get caught up. I'm sorry! I hope the special packages I put together for you will make up for it!

PredHeadDesigns & winemakerssister, sorry it is taking me so long to catch up but your packages are finally are their way. Hope they are worth the wait.
