Description: | |
Do you enjoy winter themes, but not holiday inspired? Snow, cozy fireplaces, winter sports, forest animals in frosty scenes and hot beverages of all sorts make the darker side of the season bearable. If you are in the warmer climes, or Southern Hemisphere, what are your secular winter joys? This is an international exchange. One mailart postcard, written and stamped, with a winter scene, to one partner. No envelopes please. This is a mailart postcard of your own creation, and we welcome all skill levels, however we expect more than repurposed notecard or stickers on cardstock. If you have a photo of your own that fits the swap description, and you can make it sturdy enough to make it through the postal systems worldwide, that’s mailart! If you are unsure about creating mixed media mailart, message me. We can Zoom and I’ll help you get started. There is a similar exchange for store bought postcards here. Please write a few sentences about why you enjoy the winter season wherever you are in the world. Or maybe you live where it’s rarely cold and you daydream about swirling snowflakes, or vice versa. Share those daydreams. Whatever you write, fill the back of the mailart. And be sure to use correct postage! In the US most mailart requires letter rate postage. The image is one of my crossstitch projects that will probably be made into a postcard. Textile art can also be mailart! |
