Date items must be sent by:May 12, 2007
Number of swap partners:5
Description:

Well it seems that USPS is bringing up stamp prices again. And for those of you with sheets of 39 cents stamps now may be a good time to use them before you need to buy 3 cent stamps.

For this swap you have five partners. You can mail anything you want: zines, ATCs, photos, art, letters, stickers, bookmarks, etc. The only rule is that the postage may not exceed 39 cents, nor may it be under (duh). You may want to look at the USPS page on letters here

Last day to sign up is the 6th or May and you MUST send your items in the mail by the 12th or the price of the postage will be 41 cents. (and by in the mail I mean in transit. Sticking the letter in your mail box at 11 PM on the 12th does not count)

What an interesting idea! I can think of a couple of small things that would fit in a one ounce envelope. I'm going to go searching before I sign up just to make sure I can send something besides a letter! How about recipes?

user5230 04/13/2007 #

Recipes are great! Any thing goes as long as it is under an ounce and is no thicker then 1/4 of an inch.

babysingsing, ashley, baglady, ninjaprincess and Josie84770:

I have sent out all of your envelopes.

And I'm going to post this on the 18th but I may as well say it now:

IF YOU GET ANYTHING THAT HAS POSTAGE MORE THEN 39 CENTS THEN RATE THAT SWAPPER WITH A ZERO! The only rule of this swap is to mail something that is cost exactly 39 cents to mail.

gatorsmom 05/11/2007 #

Michele in california..... I recieved your swap envelope yesterday (fri) I was to tired to let you know)... Thanks a lot! Connie

Josie84770 05/13/2007 #

Ainsmar, I read your last post - pretty harsh to give someone a zero for being more generous - even though it was not exactly what was asked for. They may not have had a scale and they tucked an extra sheet in of something special. Seems it would be better not to rate or to give them the 3 - or at least not the heart, even if they sent something truly wonderful. I know you are the swap coordinator, but if a swapper that actually mailed something got a zero, it might put them off the whole swapping experience, or make them ineligible to play in a really neat swap that they want to be part of. What do you think?

gatorsmom 05/13/2007 #

Yesterday was such a great mail day! I received 4 packages, 3 from .39 cent swap! I received some cool paper, a pizza recipe and an ATC from Sparklebluefrenzy. I recevied a blank note card, some stationary and matching envelope and some recipe cards from baglady and I received and some much needed page flags from shopandbid!

gatorsmom 05/13/2007 #

wow! I tend to agree with josie84770 on the rating issue. I would be one who would worry about this. I sent an "envelope" that I know would only cost one stamp. Unfortuanley, the last "envie" that I attempted to mail.... I ran out of envelopes and made one myself out of cardstock and was afriad that may have "tipped the scale" and put 2 stamps on it to be sure. I had thought better be safe than sorry - and didnt want to chance my recipiant either not getting it, or getting it late due to a return for more postage.
I agree, a zero is pretty harsh. I think if the minimum requirement was met, then any extra should be condsidered a bonus, not a bust.

niecedenise 05/14/2007 #

theartofmegann- got your envie today. It was great. Thankyou

JWJW2 05/15/2007 #

Creativity - I just received your swap in the mail today. I love the quilt squares (and you obviously read that I love green). Thanks for making it so personalized.

user5230 05/15/2007 #

Okay change in plan with the ratings.

If you got anything with postage more then 39 cents then you are to give that person a three. Obviously you can still give out hearts and such.

akacreativity 05/15/2007 #

JWJW2 I am so glad you liked the quilt squares and yes I did read your profile! I think it is more fun that way!

niecedenise 05/16/2007 #

OK ive had it with this swap(lol) ALL of my envies but one came back with postage due. I even went to the post office to send them. I'm gonna redo them and get them back out tomorrow. Unless I pull my hair out before then.

HeideC 05/16/2007 #

Thank you Mikkary, shopandbid, gatorsmom, sparklebluefaery, & szreader for the great envelopes! And nothing over $.39, I am impressed!

mapps 05/17/2007 #

Thanks for the zine! Ainsmar

ae4me 05/24/2007 #

I received a fantastic swap envelope from gck, I had left her rating of a 1 for not sending. However the envelope was sent before the price increase and the post office held it. I have since changed her rating but I feel really rotten for having judged her unfairly! Connie
