Description:

Ladies and Gentlemen of Amberleigh,

It is with the greatest of pleasure that on behalf of our most esteemed Lady Elizabeth & Lady Caroline, we proudly announce Amberleigh’s third Annual Garden Fete.

The situation shall be on the large front Green at Comely Park, surrounded by birch trees hung with colourful bunting between them. In the centre of the Green will be the White Marquis, where aromas of hot and cold refreshments will be served in fine china. A long side table shall provide sumptuous deserts, cakes, pies, sandwiches & savouries. A quartet playing soft concerto’s will sooth and calm the soul.

Surrounding the marquis will be green & yellow tents that shall house all your creative entries on display for the judging competitions where you may catch a glimpse of our fair hostesses.

Under the bunting surrounds will be many vendors with bric a brac, homewares & produce for sale. There shall be hay bales for seating set in between locations where you can hear the Apple Scrumpy Band, why not sip on an ale or cider from the Rose & Crown red striped tent. Here you will also find displays of clog dancing, The Mummers with Shakespeares Sonnets and the Morris Dancing, and for the little masters and misses, the puppet show, Punch & Judy, the tombola, coconut shie, and other games, for everyone to enjoy.

I have posted a scroll on the notice board on the village green for the varied competition sections. May you all feel at home in participating in

“A Friendly Competition Amongst Our Neighbours”.

Your humble Servant,

Master of Ceremonies

Launcelot W. Penn Esq.
