Halloween is not for Pagans nor was it initiated by pagans- its true history is actually Christian and very American. For this swap- read the article below on the history and tradition of All Hallows Eve or All Souls Day, and come up with a theme for an All Hallows Eve swap for your partner. DIY a card or a something for your partner with a few profile goodies tucked inside. https://ucatholic.com/blog/the-catholic-origins-of-halloween/ I don't have a problem with pumpkins or jack-o-lanterns or fall colors, etc, so really nothing is off the table here except for classic Halloween lore like Vampires and slutty nurse costumes (hahahah, yeah, no). Instead let’s take back this Holy Day and create a craft that brings us closer to the meaning of the holy day and our beloved Saints whose holy lives inspire us to strive for holy lives and the promises of Christ Jesus. What all Saints have in common is an amazing prayer life. Something w should all be trying to cultivate for ourselves, our family and our faithfully departed loved ones. Shoot for something spiritual in the actual tradition of the feast day that our ancient Christian ancestors did to remember the day and pray for souls. This is both biblical and historically accurate for Christian and Jewish dogmas. So let's do it! Have fun! |
