Bible Study - Ephesians - 1

This swap is adapted from Max Lucado's Life Lessons bible study on Ephesians. This is Lesson 1 of 12 and I will host one swap per lesson. Each lesson varies in length.

You may handwrite or type your swap and use any medium or type of paper you prefer (eg. lined note paper, journal, etc.). Just make sure that it is legible and can be read. Follow the prompts and answer the questions below! Enjoy & message me if you have any questions!

LESSON ONE: WHERE DO YOU BELONG? First answer the following question: Think of a time when you felt a true sense of belonging to a community or group of people. Consider the atmosphere, circumstances, and purpose of the group. What did it feel like to belong?

Read Ephesians 1:1-14.

Answer the following EXPLORATION questions:

1. What are some spiritual blessings that we have through Christ?

2. God forgives our sins through the blood of Christ. What difference does that make in our daily lives?

3. What is special about the fact that God deliberately chooses us as his people?

4. How does God choose his people? Do your best to anchor your answer in God's word.

5. In what way is the Holy Spirit God's mark of ownership on us?

Answer the following REACTION questions:

1. Describe being unwanted. In what situations in life have you vividly felt that you didn't belong?

2. Describe being valued. How did you discover that you were highly regarded by someone? What did that feel like, and in what ways did it affect your actions?

3. Why does God value us?

4. What conclusions can you draw from the statement that God chose us before the foundation of the world?

5. In what ways do we bring praise to God's glory?

6. Describe someone who has exemplified God's grace to you.

Answer the following JOURNALING question:

1. What situations will I face more effectively this week if I remember that I am chosen and valued by God?
