Description:

This swap is for everyone who loves manga ('comics' in Japanese). Manga could be Japanese, Chinese (don't remember the name), Korean (Manhwa) and very recently American too. Of course, it's not limited to only those countries, because anyone can draw in manga style :) I'm mainly talking about published ones, or the ones I read myself.

For this swap you send 1 (ONE) manga to your partner. On average, a volume of manga costs around $10. Please don't sign up if you do not intend on spending that much to fulfill swap obligations.

  • Open for newbies (with filled out profiles and not just 1-2 sentences please) and swappers with rating 4.5 and above. I WILL be banning people who do not meet these requirements.

  • You will have 1(ONE) partner and 1 (ONE) manga book.

  • Pick a manga that you especially like and would like to recommend to your partner. Make sure it's 1st volume and that it has at least 3 volumes already published. You can send the same thing to each of your partners, or you can pick different ones.

  • If you live outside US, then just get the 1st volume of manga you can get in your country, even if it will be in different language.

  • Write a short note describing why you like this particular manga. If you live outside US (and your pick is not in English), then it would be a good idea to write what your manga is about.

  • Also, if possible, provide a way for your partner to get additional volumes. Ex: give a link to website, or name of bookstore.

  • Try to stay away from mainstream manga (InuYasha, SailorMoon, Ghost in the Shell, Hellsing, Gundam, Cowboy Bebop, etc... just to name few) because there is a pretty good chance your partner already read them.

  • Try to pick some less known manga (but it's not a requirement), and make sure they are NOT out of print. (There are several titles that I absolutely love and would like to recommend, but unfortunately they were stopped being published...)

  • In the comment section, please list manga that you already OWN (aka you have it standing on your book shelf) so that your partner knows what NOT to send.

  • Try to stay away from listing whole bunch of 'I don't like', after all you're supposed to get something you would never read or pick up otherwise :)

  • If you like, include little something to go with your manga, something that reflects Japanese culture (since that's where Manga originated). It is NOT a requirement, only if you want to.

  • Message me or comment below if you have any questions or suggestions.

  • Have fun swapping! :)

I have learned so much on SwapBot. Manga, kawaii, softie, ATC, decorated matchboxes, you all are just brimming with unique ideas. I never knew any of these things existed before. :-)

Feel free to recommend any "mainstream" or out-of-print manga you would recommend here, OK?

Brooke, "Louie the Rune Soldier" and "Full House" are two of my favorite titles, but I don't think they are being published anymore... :( I only have 4 vols of Rune Soldier and only 3 of Full House.
