Open to Newbies, this is an International Swap

What IS a "swap card?"

Whenever you send out a swap, it's really nice to include a little "card", identifying yourself, the name of the swap, when it was sent, your "real" name, etc.

These little "notes" - - (recycled cards/computer generated/embellished/ etc, etc,) "cards - are fun to make, and they can use almost ANY materials, from leftover kid's construction paper, to recycled greeting cards - the sky's the limit!

I've even seen some OH SO darling ones, using those round paper key tags!

And since they are so much FUN to make, and use some craft materials that may not be "suitable" (size, color etc) for other projects, you can just "let go" with them.

You will have TWO partners, and will make for each of them, FIVE swap cards. (Yes, that's 10 total) - these can be all different, or all the same.

Be sure to print onto the card the space for the following:

Name, Swap Name, Date Mailed, and the word "Swap-bot".g

You can print out "labels" to attach to them, with the info filled out for your partner's swap id, and first name (if you know it), or leave the name blank. (You WILL know your partner's swap id, so that should be included.)

Have some creative FUN with these, and make them adorable and cute! (well, the adorable part may be optional, but please let's be sure they are all CUTE!

I'm giving a month to make these, tho you probably won't need that much time - these little things are FUN to make and pretty addictive, so be careful!

This swap is open to newbies, since they are just starting out, and might want to know what these little gems are like - if you have any questions, please just ask, or message me.

This is US only, so don't make them heavy to mail.

Any questions, message me here, or privately, and I'll get to ya right away.

Okay, so they DON'T HAVE to be made with a computer and printer, then? I can make these with my alphabet rubber stamps??? :-) If so, I'd LOVE to join.

you can make them however you want to - just as long as they are big enough to include your partner's name, and give them room to add the swap name and date as well - I've used old greeting cards, and collage scraps, and other things - they can be anything, just have FUN with it!

I don't really understand what swap cards mean? Can you explain it? Is it like gift tags? Thanks

gramsbuttonbox 04/30/2009 #

only "kinda" like a gift tag - these are little "note"-type cards that can be sent with swaps, to let the recipient know who it's from, the name of the swap, and even the date it was sent - I also like to include my own "swap name" on my cards - - but they are a bit more than just a "to/from" gift tag - and these can be made from ANY kind of recycled things - I've used old greeting cards, scraps of collage pages, the skies the limit - just make sure they are big enough for you to include spaces for your partner's NAME, the NAME OF THE SWAP, and DATE - - you WILL know your partner's name, (real, and swapping ID), once partners are assigned - so yes, go ahead and make them up for your partner.

hope that helps, any other questions, let me know, Mary

partners have been assigned, everyone, have FUN making these, and get them sent off on time, please - - if for any reason you CAN"T make the deadline, let me know -

also, please be sure to rate your partners in a timely manner - that's as important as sending off your own swaps!

have a good week, everyone, Mary

because of a family medical emergency, I've moved the date deadline back a couple days - hope this is not an inconvenience for anyone - take care, all, and have a good week - Mary
