Shabby Chic Description: Shabby chic items are often inspired by old French linens. Whites and worn or bleached out pastels are favorite colours. Fabric is often stained with tea to give it the look of old fabric. Bleached and faded are terms often applied to the style. Lots of lace. The essence of shabby chic style is vintage, antique and distressed..but Clean and Neat! Pink, mint green, and soft aqua are also popular colors seen in accessories and fabrics. Popular Shabby Chic items are made of vintage linens, chenille, vintage chandeliers, feature birds, swirls, damask and anything with roses on it. It is a soft, relaxed, feminine and romantic style that looks comfortable and inviting For this swap you will send your partner a jar full of Shabby Chic items, AND a altered notebook (standard 8 1/2x11). Altered notebooks are cheap to make and a lot of fun. You can personalize the notebook with your partner's name or initial. Please make it match your whimsy jar. For the whimsy jar, send beautiful, unusual and useful Shabby Chic craft items. Your items should be Brand New with the exception of vintage fabric and lace. You will have 3 weeks to put it all together. Send a package that makes your partner feel good when she opens it.
Here's a few good examples of altered notebooks. Flickr has some great examples as well.
You Must have a rating of 4.9 or higher. No 1's or unexplained 3's in the last 6 months. You must have 15 package swaps under your belt. Email and Pen pal and ATC swaps DO NOT COUNT. No Flakers! I will put a SPELL on you and you will have the hiccups for a whole year...even when you sleep and have SEX. I will be checking every single person's profile before I assign partners. This is to protect us all. I refuse to put up with any more flakers. I reserve the right to ban anyone fishy.. Any questions or suggestions, feel free to send me a message. Happy altering!
