Description:

International: A simple photo swap.

When I go over to someone's house, I always want to look at their bookshelves. I think you can learn a lot about a person from the books they own. So, here's a chance to peruse someone else's titles without ignoring your host!

Clear any knick-knacks off the front of the bookshelf so the book titles can be seen. Make sure your photo is in focus and the titles can be read. Make the photos into postcards or pop them in envelopes. Include a little note about your favourite book or about the books in the picture.

Summary: One bookshelf photo and one note to each of your three partners.

Requirements: This is an international swap, so be sure you OK to mail to anywhere in the world. The turn around is really fast, so make sure you can make the deadline. This is a simple swap, so there is no minimum rating requirement. There won't be any angels for this swap.

Weee! I love this idea! I have a gazillon bookshelves because I collect specific themes and like to keep those separate but I do have a cool area which features the majority of my TBR (to be read) books.... they number about 3,000 :-) That's what I'll use, unless my partners' profiles indicate they might be interested in one of my themed collections.

Question, dear hostesssss!

Is this a picture of a single shelf (or two or three shelves) on my bookshelf or of the entire bookshelf floor to ceiling?

DreamHope 05/28/2007 #

Cooan: Either is fine, though you want people to be able to read the titles, so floor-to-ceiling might make the individual books too small. But if you can make it work, go for it!

(By the way, this swap was partially inspired by your perusal of my bookshelves at Duke's party.)

Hehe, well I certainly did get to know you better! It was amazing to see that we'd both taken the same courses in university and had all the same textbooks! (Plus, I got to borrow more books!!)
