I think this sounds so neat. I've tried keeping a diary before, but lost interest in writing about the day to day mundane kind of things. This encourages more creative writing. I'm a newbie, but I hope to have more interesting swaps completed in time to sign up. Thanks for the opportunity!

It would be a crime to delete this swap!

I already have 4 people so I don't think I will be deleting it. I am excited that so many people seem to be excited in this. I also can't keep to writing daily doings in a journal but I didn't start a creative journal awhile back and I am greatly enjoying it. I think this swap is going to be lots of fun. :)

lol, yeah. You can do extras if you like. I just didn't want to overwhelm anyone. I could change the rule to at least 30 if you guys would like?

More people will be interested when it comes closer to the sign up date. It is on my watchlist for now. Luckily since it is a journal, it can be worked on even if you aren't signed up for it yet! I keep a visual journal and will probably incorporate that into mine as well!

@Hanane I understand what you mean, but after looking at the prompts there are lots that could be used (and there are so many to choose from) without giving up too many intimate details about your life.

I have a question before I join the swap - is it possible to fill the journal with some of our favorite sayings? poems? artwork? or does it all have to be first hand original journaling from us? Thanks for the clarification!

My last prompt journal I was in she actually included her daily thoughts and etc. My feelings on this is as long as you do the prompts then feel free to add whatever else you want to it....

I agree. Feel free to add any extras that you want. The only rules are that you answer the 30 prompts that I have asked. From there you can add more prompts, daily journaling, quotes, whatever you would like.

As for being personal there are tons of prompts to choose from and it is pretty much the same as filling out an email survey. Sometimes it is fun to share things with strangers. :)

When you say printed, I assume you mean hand written printed, and not printed from a computer/ typewriter?

on my watchlist until the sign up date gets closer... when I have time in summer, I'll start earlier to write and then send it when I get my partner :D

my cursive writing is so much better than my printing....but will try to do my best with printing....i have used cursive since about 3rd grade and i am now 42....lol

lol, yeah I know some people like that. Maybe you can ask your partner what she prefers. I have a dyslexic sister and she can't read cursive at all.

i am in for sure, but I am putting it on watch since the sign up date if further on. Love the concept, except I hope my partner would be willing to add their thoughts and send back. that would be interesting.

No I think I will just wait on another round..I totally understand about the dyslexic...my son has that also...I can't even explain how horrible my handwriting is!! lol

I am taking my prompts with me to the cottage next month. I think it will be the perfect place to relax and write. :)

ive started writing, im on prompt number 17 and im going through the list in order and doing as many as i can until the send date, im aiming for all of them.. ive done 17 prompts in 12 days.

wow, that is awesome. I am expecting to get quite a few done while I am at the cottage next week. :)

What kind of book should this be in? Like a school notebook, or is that up to us?

I went through the list of (relevant) prompts last night and I ended up with about 200, even if some are almost identical or very similar. So, this looks like it'll be a fun swap :-D

Feel free to use any type of book you would like. It just needs to be decorated/embellished. Please make sure that you decorate/embellish each of the pages in some way also. This is going to be a fun creative book for our partners to get to know a bit about us. You can also feel free to include your address on one of the pages if you would like to keep in touch with your partner. I am going to write a letter to my partner on the first page of my journal.

I just want to let you guys know that I will be away on vacation to my cottage for the next 10-11 days and we have no internet access out there cause we are deep in the bush. I will not be in touch at all for those days. I will address any question/concerns when I return. :)

I am loving this journal. I am actually scanning in each page so that I can keep this record of my life right now.

I'm glad to know that we're supposed to embellish each page.

We used to have question books like these when we were in school, where all of our friends would complete a questionnaire. Can I use some of these questions as well??

This will be my first attempt in making a journal, so hopefully my partner will show some understanding if I don't get it 100% right!!! :-)

I think a few of us are using composition notebooks. I bought a regular soft cover journal myself. Don't worry about singing up late, this isn't due until the end of November so you have plenty of time.
